Feathercoin network up 3 % over 2 days- NETWORK ATTACK?
-
Seems that the diff/retarget time is completely out of wack.
Also havent gotten my latest block found confirmed/unconfirmed in ftc client for several hours.
Only info is that the miner has found one accepted.Anyone care to comment about this? time for checkpoint?
-
Yes Just seen this???
Why is difficulty going down with more hash power added?
Anyone have any idea? looks abit f0rked ;(
-
Something is very very wrong. Re-target time is negative and keeps increasing in negative value. Does this mean it will never reach 0 hence it will never re-target?
Edit: 69,505,175 KHash/s :o looks like another attack?
The attacker found a vulnerability in stratum and was using that to block the hash power. Because pools weren’t finding any blocks, even orphans, miners started jumping ship.
This attack isn’t one person but a group. I’m starting to think either these attacks are based on a grudge or the removal/down fall of ftc will make money for someone’s other project. This is to thought out and concentrated for sh*ts and giggles.

All right everyone, calm down. Everything will be okay :)
These attackers are pretty ingenious. I’m really keen to get the Advanced Checkpointing implemented so that attackers have to mine blocks normally like the rest of us.
What they are doing to us now they will move on and try on others. We are being forced to evolve which is no bad thing. More than anything these attacks help spread fear, uncertainty and fear as many do not understand the attacks and over estimate the damage the attacks will do.

So which pool should we be mining on?

So which pool should we be mining on?
Actually, it started happening about 10hours ago. a quick way around it was to change from stratum to getwork pool. Thus just temp change to getwork, its a alternative solution… But I guess most pool should have resolve this problem…
Low difficulty without the exchange rate going down, looks like those multipools are aiming their hash at ftc.
at 0.00088 ftc/btc and a diff at 32 (at the time) ftc was REALLY profitable ::) -

Seems FTC were dead from now :( It is a pity, hoping that this will be the currency of a minimum replacement for litecoins :(
FTC is not dead.
If it’s dead, does it mean we can all avoid the insane back to back late nights? :) We were attacked, we continue to push forward.

as of 8:15pm this addr4sss got 47,000? the block rate is sometimes seconds. I thought it was fixed so he couldn’t exploit stratum.

- Could we get some live crypto network statistics / charts on the forum, so the community can monitor more easily to diagnosed any further suspicious activity, and not so biased to “Tradeing” sites lie coinchoose.
Perhaps this explains - the block average rate prediction of the start date, anomaly, i.e. the difference to the actual start date is a measure of fraudulently included blocks during past attacks.
So something along the lines of a comparitive line chart of hashes from partner coins, litecoin, and bitcoin? Is there a online db somewhere that a historical hash rates can be pulled and diff adjust?

My investigation last night showed a potential insertion of the odd block, not the massive multiple obvious inserts. This is more insiduous as these inserts are coins being stolen and would be more difficult to trace.
What tools do we need to do a weekly analysis the blockchain, and highlight all potentially dodgy blocks?
Please test the current block chain for any anomalies urgently. Post these Blocks and fraudulent addresses on the Investigations Page.
Some anomalies may be due to bugs or merged mining going wrong, they need identifying urgently for attention.
I have posted the incorrect times of some of the blocks as a new potential new attack vector and am doing a new survey this morning to see how many more coins were stolen last night.
If there was a minimum block time, incorrect dates would not have been been confirmed. Each should also be confirmed if it is consistent with the previous and post block.
