Started discussion over here to get focused.

What do you have interest in purchasing for FTC?
What do you have interest in selling for FTC?
What do you spend money on regularly, that you FTC could replace?

Let’s get input!

sorry been busy.
a site like chinabuye/dealextreme would be good (all kinda cheap chinese made stuff)
a proper worldwide computer webshop (im not just talking about mining equip webshop)
a site offering crypto comercial stuff (feathercoin t-shirts etc, pen, lighters and so on)

basiclly everything that i normally find on ebay/amazon should have a crypto payment alternative ;D

I’d like my bank to offer me the choice of Euros or FTC when I make a transaction.

But I’d settle for a market place that’s sells everything & books like ebay, ebid, amazon, book depository etc.

Well, someone is already offering that: http://www.coingas.com/. But you probably aren’t satisfied with what’s offered? You wish to have an option to buy any game that’s on Steam, right?

I’ve read somewhere sites like that are not legal. Steam does not allow resales/indirect payments I think. What I was talking about was Steam directly accepting bitcoin/feathercoin.

in principle I’d like to buy goods from my favorite online shops.
-Amazon

• google play store
• itunes
• german shops: conrad, atelco

Selling: A ebay like market would be sufficient for me, so I think the FTC market will be fine for me as soon as it is availabe and if it has the possibility to filter on ‘country seller/goods are located’ and ‘goods delivered to country’

In terms of myself I would like to buy anything that I would get online and particularly Amazon. So things like water filers for jug in the kitchen, toothbrush, books. Things like that.

But I would also love to buy coffee and lunch for when I am out and about in town and don’t want to have to remember to take my wallet with me everywhere (since my FTC works on my phone) and it would mean I wouldn’t have to queue up for at the ATM. I would also like to pay my suppliers in FTC.

In general I think it is important that we get in to Food and essential utilities; these are key to our success. I think another good thing we could try is getting in to the corner shops that top up electricity meters, particular those on low incomes in the UK. It could be good for them as well.

If we can get merchants to accept FTC for life’s essentials we are golden.

It would be cool to be able to pay for services with FTC. Things like VPN service, Grooveshark, and whatnot.

Thanks to everyone for their awesome input. Looks like a lot of it focuses on material needs/services. A few of the needs and services could be met in the short term. While others might take some time. I especially like the recurring idea of having things you could buy on Amazon/DealExtreme/Cheapo Chinese websites for FTC.

It looks like a lot of these companies offer drop-shipping services, so starting a webstore is a realistic possibility.

So, I was eating chips/crisps the other day and I thought to myself - wouldn’t it be cool if I could buy snacks for FTC?
With Halloween just around the corner, there’ll be tons of stuff on sale Nov 1.
Does anyone have any interest in buying snacks from Canada? We are famous for having Ketchup and Dillpickle chip flavours not available anywhere else. As well as an assortment of Nestle chocolate products, like Smarties, Oh Henry! and Wunderbar. I could put together sampler packages so people can try different things.

Mmmmmm…

Would this be international shipping or to customers in Canada. The Marketplace will be open by then so you could run it through there, no?

:D

That’s what I’m hoping for. I’d ship internationally, although shipping costs could get high depending on customer patience [surface is much cheaper, but takes 4-6 weeks etc.] All this talk about snacks is making me hungry.

Hahaha… you got a serious Smarties problem Kevlar. I’ll drop by the “Wholesale” place tomorrow and see what $30 will get you. I imagine it’ll be a lot of Smarties.
