Why I Am Investing my first $10,000 in feathercoins

Purchasing FTC is a great start, but the next question you should be asking yourself is, “Now what?”
Are you holding for a price target like a commodity? Are you spending them like currency? Are you giving them away to increase adoption? Are you doing something else?
Food for thought: Is spending the entire amount on purchasing the best option? FTC has a lot of competition, and the war is being fought on the playing field of feature innovation and adoption. You could spend $10,000 on FTC, but you’d have nothing left over to further adoption and innovation, and your purchase will temporally increase the price a little in the short term, or you could spend $5,000 on purchasing, and $5,000 on new development, which will increase adoption and raise the price a lot over the long term. Either way it’s a gamble, but the second option puts you in much closer contact with the factors that influence prices.

I think it’s a good decision investing in crypto if you can afford it, and feathercoin is one of the best alt-currencies. Also as you say the risk reward factor is good. Still tbh If I were investing 10k I wouldn’t choose only one currency, I would get myself a few bitcoins and litecoins too. But don’t go beyond this three, the rest is just noise. -

First us$10,000 in FTC to buy and hold.
let’s suppose that we don’t do anything else, this is my financial escenario.
20% chance that feathercoin die in the next two years, result = -$10,000
30% chance that feathercoin keep their value in the next two years, result = 0
20% chance that feathercoin double their price in two years, result=20,000
20% chance that feathercoin cuádruple their price in two years, result =40,000
10% Chance that feathercoin multiply by 10, (we already saw this case, bitcoin, ltc) result = $100,000
Expected Value using this assumptions
-10,000 X .20 + 0 X.30 + 20,000 X .20 + 40,000 X .20 + 100,000 x .10
Expected value= 20, 000 in profits in two years. -

[/quote]Those chances are not fixed and can change in a matter of months.
For the same price you could buy scryptcoin mining hardware which would give you double your money in 2.5 months (if you don’t pay for electricity, which btw I don’t).
If you want to spend that much, we have some projects that are very busy and would bring you more in the long run than placing blind bets.
We all work on something here. Nobody is riding on anyone else’s back.

[/quote]You could treat it like a dividend.Recoup, cash out your initial investment plus a few thousand to show for it, leave the rest alone and see if it appreciates much, much more a year from now. And if it doesn’t, who cares? Already eliminated your risk and had some profit.
Though you’ve probably already made the decision to pull completely. Can’t blame you, much easier to say what people should do with money than to be the one with the responsibility to do it.

wow $10,000 investment blows my mind but then again i am a poor guy with a family of 5 and only 1 working. Dont get me wrong if i had extra money even $1,000 i would invest in FTC since i believe in it. I talked to a friend of my and he has agreed to accept FTC for payments of things like oil changes etc ( he is a mechanic )

As I explained before i was expecting to make 200% in two years, it was difficult to resist 100% in two days.
I passed one month analysing all the alt coins with 21 factors.
I am still a great believer of ftc, no with with my heart buy with the numbers.
I will spend some days in the beach thanks to FTC.

the actual volume in BTC-e is 527.48 BTC, the volume is up 50 % from yesterday
527.48btc X $634 = $340,458 , so $10,00 is a small part, -

[/quote]First of all, congratulations on your profits dowa. Daytrading can be profitable, although it is easy to make a wrong decision and end up short. Great to hear that you increased your fiat holdings in just two days.
I think you should have waited a little bit longer, a couple of months at least.

Well, that was a bit quicker than two years.
Kevlar made an excellent point at the beginning of this thread. If you have the means it may be more beneficial in the long run to invest in infrastructure to give Feathercoin more use and purpose which is turn gives more volume and support in the markets. The markets give Feathercoin their value and are much needed but there needs to be more use available for it. People seem loathe to part with their crypto currency and we need to give them reason to use it as it is intended as a currency.
