ESCROW
-
I’ll volunteer my services, no charge but donations are welcome. I can escrow any coin pair, but will not do Paypal trades.
I’ve been here since the start, along with ZD, Chekaz, and spynappels, I’m sure anyone can vouch for me.
PM me to set up a deal.

This is an excellent move.
Very well much needed guys!
I see more and more people in the chat-box who need this.
I’ve only been here for maybe a week now, but It’s plain to see that this will assist adoption amongst new comers.

Hi there FFF,
It’s great that you want to get involved, that is always to be commended.
The thing about escrow is that it requires a great deal of trust, which needs to be built up over time. That is why each of the people in the list is a very longstanding member with a history on the forums.
If you want to get involved, the first step would be to build a solid reputation on the forums by helping people in the Support forum, and generally building up a good reputation. Once this is in place, we’d certainly welcome the provision of escrow services. As you will understand, escrow is entirely built on trust, and the first step to providing an escrow service is gaining the trust of the community.
Thanks again for expressing an interest in helping out, and I’m sure we will see a lot more of you on the forums from here on in.
Kindest regards,
Stefan -
I’ve had issues in the past selling stuff online using eBay due to the occasional recipient claiming that they did not get the item in “as advertised” condition among other things and then having PayPal reimburse them against my will. Having people scratch up Wii games and try to send them back 2 months later, things like that. I’ve actually looked for online escrow services where I could send my item for them to verify the condition and then mail it (at my expense) to the recipient after funds have been verified. Is this something that you guys are willing to do? Or does that just present too much risk to the seller? I’ve got some fairly expensive small items that I’d like to list on the market place, but no real way to protect myself against dishonest buyers who escrow their funds and claim it was never received or wasn’t as advertised etc. Thoughts?
-
I just can’t recommend it.
It sucks, I know, but Paypal is completely unreliable. Getting a charge-back is TRIVIALLY easy and usually takes between 1-2 hours during normal business hours.
If you ABSOLUTELY INSIST on using Paypal, buy SLL on VirWox.com, and BTC for SLL (again, on Virwox.com, takes about 2 minutes to do the whole thing start to finish), and use your BTC to buy. I can escrow that trade (BTCFTC). That puts the risk of chargeback on VirWox.com, and they can deal with it.
DO NOT use Paypal in a P2P trade, or escrow a trade with Paypal. It can be 45 days later (That’s the end of January!!!) before the chargeback.
Please. Just don’t do it.

I have no interest in using PayPal at all for P2P trades. My primary concern is that escrows generally only protect the buyer, even if the currency is FTC or BTC. As a seller, trying to prove that my item was delivered in the condition advertised is almost impossible. Even if the item makes it all the way to the user, some dishonest person with buyers remorse could simply take some sandpaper to it and claim that it was damaged. Then they get their money back, and the seller get stuck with their item that is worthless now. I’ve had it happen to me on eBay.
You are correct. Buyers remorse is a problem escrow can’t solve.
Smart Property is the solution. But we’re not quite there yet. Maybe some day…

What I was originally asking about was if anyone has thought about doing the escrow for both the item, and the payment. Where I live, I can go downtown and drop off an item with an escrow service who will then release the item (such as a car title) upon receipt of payment for a small fee. It adds a trusted middle agent to the transaction who verifies both sides of it. The trusted agent has the property, and the cashier’s check just cleared. Release the title, transaction complete. I live in a place where 99.9% of the people have no idea what crypto currency is, and so finding a buyer here who will pay with FTC is almost impossible. The internet is really the only way for me to sell what I’ve got. When selling $10 items, it’s not the end of the world if someone claims you didn’t send it, or that it was damaged during shipping. When the item is several thousand dollars, that’s when it’s not so cool anymore.
Hi live627,
The list above is specifically a list of staff and team members who are willing to offer escrow services, along with some carefully selected longstanding members.
We’d be happy to consider you when some time has gone by and you have had an opportunity to develop your standing, trust and reputation within the Feathercoin community by getting involved in any of the activities which help the community. We look forward to seeing you build on the start you have made already.
Regards,

Which MOD or authorized user wants to do the escrow for my game.
https://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php/topic,5789.msg42850/boardseen.html#new
I offer 20% of the fee I collect. I will do the video and proof of game and determine winner. You will accept payments from all players. You pay me my cut of the rake and pay the winner. Keep the 20% of the rake.

Take ChekAz off the list, he doesn’t provide solutions when his own sales go bad what good is he as an escrow service?
Perhaps you’d care to discuss this with an Admin using PM so we can arbitrate? Unless this was a case where a specific member was providing Escrow and something went wrong, it is probably better to discuss this in private until both sides of the story can be established. We do not want to shelter wrongdoing, but neither do we want to spread any disinformation, and to avoid both, these matters are better handled in private, at least initially.

Long time old thread…
I think we should try build a decentralised escrow into the BC… Kinda like escrow.com where anything can be escrowed for anything.
I plan to have this in by the years end.
What say we?
