CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: We are putting together a Feathercoin Media Team
-
WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A PART OF OUR MEDIA TEAM?
The Feathercoin Media Team will focus on compiling, translating, and distributing FTC related news releases and information to local/online and relevant media across the globe. All discussions will occur on the forums and everyone in the community will be invited to contribute and provide feedback and opinions. The Media Team will work closely with our Community “Servant” ChrisJ, Social Media Managers, Designers, Art Gurus and Devs in creating content and ultimately doing three very important things: 1) Taking a huge load off of ChrisJ’s current full plate, 2) Creating a focused approach to media relations, and C) Raising awareness about FTC.
Our current plans call for the following positions:
MEDIA TEAM LEADER
[sup]NOTE: I am volunteering for this spot, but am more than happy to pass the torch on to someone else. (mirrax?)[/sup]
The Media Team Leader / General Whipper-Snapper will manage all media team members. Their responsibilities will be to set goals, deadlines and analyze project progress and give direction and instruction. They will be communicating with community leaders and the community itself on a regular basis with regards to all things Media Team related by posting Calls To Action and Announcement threads. One of the key responsibilities of the Media Team Leader will be to maintain morale and motivation on activity - and act as a representative for the Media Team.
If you have experience in the Public Relations / Publicity industries, have an understanding media dissemination techniques and processes, are a good team leader and can dedicate a fairly large amount of time, please respond!
REGIONAL MEDIA TEAM REPRESENTATIVES
We would like to cover as many regions as possible, this includes different languages and cultures. Key areas to start will include North America, South America, Asia [China, India], Australia, Europe, That One Island Near Europe Where Everything Is On Toast. This is just a rough idea, so if you want to represent a specific region you are from, please speak up!
As a Regional Media Team Representative, your key responsibilities will include identifying and reaching out to media outlets, journalists/bloggers in your geographic area and establishing relationships with them. You will be our point of contact for each region and communicate with the Media Team Leader on a regular basis.
If you have experience in Public Relations / Publicity industries, are not afraid to reach out to people and be turned down many times, have good oral and writing skills let us know!
MEDIA TEAM WRITERS & TRANSLATORS
Our Writing and Translating team will be responsible for putting together press releases and informational content. You will work with our Regional Media Team Representatives and Media Team Leader.
If you are multi-lingual, experienced with writing Press Releases or Translating, or just want to give it a shot, let us know! Writer and translators can also be Regional Media Team Reps as well.
That’s about it for now. If you are interested, please respond and volunteer. If you are new to the forum, give us a little blurb about yourself.
Finally, if you feel you want to contribute to this post in any way at all, feel free. This is a starting point of a discussion and I’m sure a lot of you guys have some great ideas to share.

ChrisJ - your input would be greatly appreciated.
Mirrax - let us know what you need, what your thoughts are!
Entimp - as Social Media Manager you will be working closely with the team, let us know what you need, give input.

Hi monster,
I am pretty bussy this time of year + I am loosing my temper to often :) I think there are better candidates than me.
But I can position myself into regional translator/recruitment guy with focus on CZ&SK.;)
-
I work as an advertising creative. I’m interested - so are a few others (strategists and producers).
We could potentially get a few ears listening. Let me know if you have a brief I could look at.
Cheers,
Joe
- we’re based in Sydney

I am in for the long fight.
Looking to recruit with one or two folk to help out on the FB front, this will help with some new flavour in the social media feed.
I can write copy and do some graphics too. Tues/Wed I will have a media intro letter fully fleshed out for editing and changes.
I feel we need a platform to use to communicate to each other, the forums and do.com are fine (the latter closing) but we do need a machine to facilitate our plans and organise us. Any ideas?
-
Calem, any thoughts on a mix video introducing FTC, not a hard sell but selling us as a community with a sum that is more than our individual parts.
I can strip out the mp3 voice track from the FTC Ox Blue video and mail it. Maybe something a little hard core rock with some techno beats interlaced with quotes and sound bites from our videos. Edgy but immediately enjoyable.
Let me know what you think and we can get a team together to help you out.
-
I’m not a facebook kinda guy, so I don’t think I’m the best candidate for helping there.
In regards to a communication platform aside from the forum here, I use Skype, maybe that could be used for conference calls?
Entimp, sounds like fun. I have a couple of guitarists who would be happy to help out. I know of the video your talking about, I’ve seen it. I could download it myself and rip the audio out, sample it into the song, and use the video to mix up if I had some other graphics/footage to chuck in with it.
with a sum that is more than our individual parts.
Do you mean showing that we’re more about been a community rather then a bunch of day traders?
edit
I’ve downloaded the Oxford Blue video
Also, if someone wants to go all out and focus on the video, It would be fine by me. I can “mix” video around, like my Kanninbalen mix, but I’m no good with putting in titles the same way the Ox Blue video has em “floating” in the sky/background… Looks really impressive but I can’t really do that.
-
Ok. I have the video, but It would be nice to have the speaking without the music in the background. I can still work with this, but I’d have more freedom if I had the original speech.
-
I’m sure we can get that, I will chat with Chris today hopefully and see what we can do. Ace - Let’s Do It!
-
I think I just pm’d you with my skype contact… but it’s not showing up under sent. If you don’t receive it let me know.
But yeah, sounds like a plan!
-
I got the PM, cheers. Will get back to you once I have touched base with CHris today (hopefully).
-
Hey :) I’m always here and will pitch in where I can ;)
-
Heya Ruthie!
I saw you on the Ox Blue video!
You don’t mind me (or whoever does the video) using your image in the promo video that’s getting organised?
-
Hey Calem, I don’t mind at all :)
-
I can do translations to Danish. I can also do a decent translation to Swedish and can probably get a Swedish friend to correct what spelling errors I might make.
I’m a bit late with this, but I’m a sound designer and composer as well, currently studying “Media and sonic communications”, so I could lend a hand in that direction also.
I have some old school analogue synths and an 8-bit monophonic synth plus a really nice nineties digital 16-bit synth, so if someone wants to create something with kind of a geeky and vintagey feel, I could be your man. And of course I’m open for colaborations, Calem :)
-
Guys,
Thanks so much for the overwhelmingly awesome response. I’ll be contacting every volunteer directly over the coming day via PM. Hopefully we’ll get a few more responses to this!
Thanks!

I think a lot of effort should be put into getting more traders over from places like eBay & eBid to come and trade in the marketplace.
With Bittylicious adopting FTC in the near future it offers traders an easier path to exchanging funds back to fiat currency. Could be just the platform needed to help convert existing traders, who are not into crypto yet, into trading for them.
If adoption is the key to future success then this has to be the way to go.
I have traded on eBay for years so have a good understanding of how these businesses operate. I would love to be able to help by canvassing eBay businesses. Could really make a push at getting the marketplace buzzing with lots of new items for people to purchase! -
This thread is awesome.
You know, that got me to thinking…
Why is it when people ask where to buy Feathercoin, people say exchanges, eBay, and Bittylicious?
Why don’t they say the Feathercoin marketplace?
