I should be able to locate the wallet.dat file, but do not know how to locate the private keys. Can you help with that?
Have a look at this
1 - go to your receiving addresses
2 - get to the debug console by going to Help - > Debug - > Console
3 - right click your receiving address and copy it
4 - in the console window you can type “dumpprivkey FeathercoinAddress” (without the quotes)
If you look at the example it will make sense…the example used the Windows 0.8 client on the testNet, but the process is the same or very similar…you’ll get it ;-)
Please remember, you need to do this for each one of your addresses.
You then need to save the output somewhere safe…I can’t advise on where and what “safe” is.
-
@petesch What you need to do is the following -
copy your “old” wallet.dat file to a location that you know is safe…
Setup the new feathercoin client, and launch it. So if you have a windows machine, or a newer mac or whatever. It will start syncing the entire blockchain. Depending on the speed of the network it might be a little bit. Let it sync all the way. Then when that is done, quit the client. Make sure it’s off. Locate the appdata folder for your feathercoin data. Rename the wallet.dat file here to - “empty_wallet.dat” so that you know it’s the empty wallet with private keys that don’t hold any value.
Then, copy your old wallet.dat file into this directory. Launch the updated client, and it should start the re-scan and show you your balance. If it still doesn’t show you any balance let us know.

Hey, what’s up?
I’m a novice trader and have recently started a crypto consulting business and want to start pushing FTC to my clients. Excited to see what’s in store and will contribute however I can!

Hello and welcome.

Hi there …
-
Hello!
I’ve never mined before, but I decided I was bored with my gaming rig and pointed it at a few p2pools.
I’ve solved a few blocks, and I’m just wondering, how long does it take to get a payout? (I started last night at about 2am)
-
Hi @wreylza and welcome.
P2pool is like solo mining, except split between a group. You just have to wait till a block is found, it depends on how many are mining p2pool against the total hash rate.
-
@wrapper thanks for the welcome!
That’s where I’m confused. My miner says I’ve actually found blocks, like, BLOCK! And accepted. I’m using nsgminer and getting 500+M/hs
-
@wreylza nevermind! I think I figured it out in the p2pool settings.

Hello! I have been a member of the the feathercoin forum for many years, but I must admit that I went awol for a while! I was pleased to see that you still have my email in you database!
I am slowly getting back into mining and hopefully some cool feather/crypto project! good luck to everyone!
P.S.
are we still meeting in Oxford (or anywhere else in in UK)?? -
Hello World
I’m Little King Tate,
I joined this discussion to resurrect a project I saw launch back when I first joined the cryptosphere. If there is anything I can do to help with projects needing a hand, please let me know. Until then, I believe we should create a write up for this site to increase our rating to be placed next to BTC and LTC in their ranking.
If you believe this to be a good idea, please upvote.
Let’s make this happen together.

Hi littleking,
we were just discussing in admin chat, about ways forward on the web site and forum.
There is a all the information you need, but you have to use google to find it. Then documentation or readme get out of date. So we’re moving stuff to Feathercoin Wiki or looking to version control some things on Github as potential strategies going forward.
New members are always saying “what can we do to help”?, “but I’m not technical”, yet devs and admins with other responsibilities are always left to re jig docs …
The only up side is how much we have learned doing documentation, research and support. -

are we still meeting in Oxford (or anywhere else in in UK)??Hi @Chirale As far as “Leaders” Bushstar had to move on, the same FTC team supported Chrisj and Calum who contributed to costs. Lizhi contributed a lot to 0.9.6 release. UncleMuddy, Wellenreiter are “in charge” of services and Github currently.
Feathercoin has survived so far as an open source project which seems incredible and worth continuing. FTC does need some human support as a DAO, for coding, bugfixes and support. The strategy has therefore been develop the website and resources to support FTC as automatically as possible.
