Alright. Done that and things changed. However, now it says "No login credentials supplied for pool 0 http://p2pool…
Should I make an account somewhere?p2pool does not need an account.
Are you 100% it’s all identical
You need to look at this switch:
-O
The above switch is specifying a username and password. for p2pool your “username” is your wallet address that you want the mined coins to go to…and for p2pool you don’t need a password so it’s just “xx”
So section by section in the bat file, I’m going to explain each part and hopefully you’ll be able to start. If you look at my screenshot it should make sense to you…
Here is the line we are discussing:
nsgminer --neoscrypt -I 14 --worksize 16 -g 1 -o http://p2pool.neoscrypt.de:19327 -O 6tXAeBZzRrtXXv7WBypn29VMRTci5egbSw:xx
First you start the nsgminer program by calling “nsgminer”
You then specify that you want to mine the neoscrypt algorithm with “–neoscrypt”
You then specify “intensity” with “-I 14” this is intensity 14
You then specify a “work size” with “–worksize 16”
You then specify your GPU threads with “-g 1” This means you’re going to use 1 GPU thread
You then specify your pool address with “-o URL”
You then specify your mining address and a random password that’s not needed with “-O MiningAddress:xx”
1- look at my sceenshot…look at the folder I have extracted the NSGminer software to.
2 - look at the mine.bat file I opened in notepad
3 - read bit and follow with my explanations above -
@AcidD
Alright, it seems that I had the second -O with lower case rather than capital. Now it seems connected, but still, it shows this:
-
That looks ok.
Does it report a hashrate ?
If you look at this page http://p2pool.neoscrypt.de:19327/static/ and scroll down.
You should see your wallet address and your hashrate as well as your expected PayOut.
-
I cant see my wallet in the website.
And for some reason, Khs started at about 180 and keeps decreasing. Currently at 50. Why is that?UPDATE: I just saw my wallet at the website, But hash rate is unacceptable. 20khs
-
Well the HD7770 is an old card…I dont expect a very high hashrate…altho 20 KH/s seems a bit low
if you use CMD and navigate to your Nsgminer folder and then run this:
nsgminer --help
it will give you a load of options, read each one and see if you can tweak your setup.
-
Ok thanks a lot. Hash rate moving between 80 and 100 now.
So what happens now? Will I see the mined feathercoins in the feather program? When will they show up? I want to calculate my rate of mining, as it seems that website calclutators were terribly wrong. -
So yay! you’re mining now.
Keep checking this link, look for your wallet address…it should show you your “expected payout”
http://p2pool.neoscrypt.de:19327/static/Then you just have to wait till the pool pays out and your expected payout will be transferred to your wallet address.
@Wellenreiter might be able to confirm how often the pool pays out.
Glad you got it sorted

The hashrate will go up if you mine a bit longer, as the pool needs more data to calculate your hash rate. IT will be the same or minimal less, than the hash rate your miner reports… if it reports… ;)

One last step is to make sure your Feathercoin desktop wallet is fully synced.
If you look at the screenshot below of my test wallet.
You can see the big green bar at the bottom that says “5 weeks behind”
What this means is that my copy of Feathercoin is 5 weeks behind with the transaction ledger /blockchain
So if this was your machine, you’d need to let it sync untill it’s 100% upto date, then when your mined coins get sent…you’ll see them. Why?! Because your wallet is fully upto date with the blockchain :-)

The pool pays immediately when a block is found by the pool. You can see the expected time to find a block on the pools Page. It’s labled ‘time to block’
But as finding a block is a kind of luck, the real time to find a block can vary.Glad you got it sorted

Thanks a lot guys.
What I noticed is that after 5 minutes of mining, the estimated coin was 0.079. However, now, 45 minutes later the estimated coin is 0.085. Which is the real rate? Is there a lag in the website?
Do you know any trustworthy profit calculator for ftc?BTW, my wallet is synching very very VERY slowly. Started from 4 years 50 weeks and after 6 hours I got 2 years 49 weeks left. And I think that the rate is decreasing.

We are aware of the slow sync and we’ve already fixed the issue…the fix will be included in our next release.
in the meantime… If you find your wallet syncing is “stuck” or taking too long, try closing and opening your wallet again.
-
I forgot to mention that my connection sucks… But what about the rate of mining? Where can I find a trustworthy calculator?

I use https://whattomine.com/
I find it fairly accurate.

Regarding the wallet sync, your observation is correct, the sync slows down when it reaches some given points in the block chain.
- we changed the block time from 2.5 minutes per block to 1 minute per block, so your wallet has to check 2.5 times more blocks per day syncing after that point.
- we also changed the hashing algorithm from scrypt to neoscrypt, which is more time consuming to check during sync.
A trustworthy profit calculator is your laptop or your mobile ;)
get the actual network hashrate which is about 19.4 Ghash at the moment.
Divide that hashrate by the hasrate of your miner and you have the number of minutes you’ll need to earn 40 FTC.
;)
It’s all about statictis so there is some difference between the theoretical time and the real time to earn 40 FTC. -
Wait a second @Wellenreiter .
Judging from yesterday’s performance and what the profit calculator was telling me, mining feather coin at my current status (hash rate and kWh price) was unprofitable. Even if I powered my pc entirely from solar panels (price of kWh = 0), still I would have to also increase my hash rate to achieve some returns.
BUT
If I do the calculation you provide me, we have
19.400.000.000 h/s (19.4 Gh/s) / 80.000.000 (80 Kh/s) = 242.5 minutes = 4.04 hours
40 ftc is about 2$.
kWh price in prime time (noon) here is 0.21$. So 0.21 * 4 = 0.84$. So, he have a profit. So, which of these two are correct?
EDIT: Wrong Kh/s to H/s conversion. The process is unprofitable. Unless you have free energy and a 500 kh/s mining power.
