See usually if you if you try to send to a different coin address the client will do this:
      0_1513211959858_c6741608-ce06-4caf-a394-b28aff46a088-image.png

but not if you send to a multisignature address!

Litecoin used to have the same version field (which resulted in multi signature addresses start with 3) as bitcoin so it is possible to send LTC to BTC address and vice versa and don’t get any errors. because it is a valid address.

Feathercoin was once a fork of litecoin so I believe will share this issue as well.

Sounds like an opportunity to implement a new feature to the feather coin wallet or core possibly?

Some sort of check bit based around the feathercoin starting numbers (6 or 7) you mention?

@davereplicant No I would rather suggest to double-check.

@Davereplicant I thought there were checks in the wallet, but not on the exchange web site?

@jancleades This is a multisig address. If you have the keys, you can construct a tx to send the coins to a regular FTC address.

@chekaz I appreciate that. I was just thinking ahead for a future example where a teller or cashier who’s not familiar with crypto makes a mistake by pushing the wrong button.
I’m not a programmer, just looking at this from a user perspective.
