Sorry - no one got back, we do the network but have been supporting all sorts over the weekend, yours went off the page too quick…

-My son uses the Android Feathercoin wallet and it is quite good. It uses a lightweight java blockchain database which just contains the headers, but still takes a while to sync.

has your android wallet synced yet?

I don’t have a phone so I am not up on how to add a network node, to the Android Feathercoin client, which would help with syncing. I also don’t know how you might have restricted network access in a phone setting either, which could externally effect the network sync.

API stands for Application Programming Interface. In the context of pools it will probably be JSON. It is a set of commands you can run to pole, or send information to the network. I’m still learning about this as there is an amazing amount of back room work done(by Bitcoin & Litecoin & others), and also functions that can be run from the feathercoind (daemon).

Bush has also written / maintains an Feathercoin API 2, which is about extracting other information from the web site.

Thanks for your question, it is one of the things we are trying to distribute to the community. The facilities already available and open source code which could be re-used for Feathercoin applications.

If you want to do further research, I suggest trying to set up a p2pool, which can be done in a Virtualbox.

I appreciate the help, that’s what it appears to have been! I’ll have to start looking into a few other pools/ways of doing things for the future so that I pick the most effective means of mining for myself.

I’m not absolutely sure what else might be stored in the wallet, so I can’t answer that definitively.

However, in general terms, I find that having different address for different people/entities who may be sending me coins help me keep track of what’s coming from where and allow me to keep on top of things more easily, so I back my wallet up weekly.

Looking at the explorer, you can see all the public details are open. Just nobody knows who has the key.

Like above, why run two different wallets when it could all got into one? Who says your wallet has to be on your mining rigs? Why not run the wallet on a normal PC in case your mining rig dies due to 100% 24/7 running.

minerd, which I’m using on some smaller CPU rigs tells you the following when a share is submitted:

This one was restarted a little while ago, but it tells me that all 323 shares I’ve submitted have been accepted. After this has been running for a week or two, the accepted one will be lower than the submitted number, and the percentage will drop below 100%, this miner averages 99% accepted shares when mining FTC on D2’s pool.

cgminer has a section at the top which tells you your efficiency (the percentage in the example above).

It has only been a slight problem, gaining the initial seed network connection for a new user. Most people connect straight away

When there has been a problem with a new user not joining the network quickly, I have sent them an “anddnode” of a current IP address. Using - “getpeerinfo” on the debug console.

That helps get them seed a current open node on the network and thus find more nodes.

As the network increases, exponentially at the moment, this will be less and less of an issue. From now on, there will always be multiple wallets on line to connect to.

It looks like you haven’t opened the project file correctly. Make sure you open the .pro as

File menu / Open as file or project.

Well, I only intend to use the one wallet for my holdings, and another smaller one on my phone for on the fly purchases once crypto takes off and I can use it in the actual world.

Have you tried to re-download the wallet install to c:\temp? and run it from there.

target temp is set to 75. About the power supply, what brand were they? PSU quality is more important then wattage.

However it crashed again… I tried to lower the intensity at 15 and decrease the clocks more. Let’s see what happen. I will also set the target temp to 70 maybe…

Thanks for the report. The daemon for the stats server went down for the first time in a long time. I thought I had that stable. The daemon has been restarted and everything has now updated.

deleted the block .dat files (not the wallet.dat) in user profile folder and added -rescan to startup. it finally found 1 connection and starting to download. thanks for the hints posted by others.
