Pro-tech, I encourage you to be an active member on the forums. If you do so, people will start to trust you and then naturally join your pool. Spamming threads does not make them come to you and it will not be tolerated. Please stop it.

So exposure is the key to the success of the FTC?

Now I’m young and naive, but perhaps a Kickstarter project could help with this. For instance, the project would be to build mining PC’s to mine Feathercoins. The Kickstarter rewards are a fraction of the FTC the mining PC’s bring in, proportional to the donation of the backer ($100 backers get X%, $300 backers get Y%, sorted out at the end once the total backed amount is found).

This would help in a few ways. First, it brings exposure to Feathercoin. Perhaps some people would see it on Kickstarter who would not otherwise have known about Feathercoin, or any cryptocurrencies. I believe the type of people who are on Kickstarter would be interested in this, too.

Second, it puts Feathercoins in the hands of more people. The more backers there are, the more people have a stake in the FTC market. The more people involved in FTC, the better. (right?)

And third (is this good or bad??), more Feathercoins are being mined as a result of this project.

Does this sound like a good idea? I’ve got time, and space, and electricity, and could put something like this together if it would help Feathercoin. I’ve really gotten more and more interested in FTC the more I read, and truly believe that it will be big one day. Anything I can do to help.

So, now it has adjusted and the difficulty is going to possibly [i]increase[/i] slightly, rather than drop significantly as it said it was going to yesterday.

That’s a bit disheartening. At this point it seems like it wouldn’t really be worth it unless I already had several high end Radeons. Investing $600 in four of them would be a big gamble. With the difficulty and exchange rate fluctuating the way they do, the 8-10 months it would take to pay back the investment in cards at the current rate may increase quite a bit. I guess I knew this when I first started researching all of this, but seeing it now, I can certainly see how this is not an easy thing to get into.

Also, after the first day of earning about 3.5 feathercoins with cudaminer, the second day I earned [i]none[/i] in a 20+ hour period. No transactions at all. Which again, is probably not uncommon, but a bit disappointing given that I had to pay for that electricity.

Is it generally better to be in a pool with MORE or LESS people? I assume that a larger pool gets you more reliable payouts (less days with no earnings) but you get much smaller ones when they do come through, especially if the other people have very high khash\sec. Is this accurate?

I am going on the basic rule - buy low, sell high.

have yet to learn what a ‘wall is’ and how order books work.

I watch ftc and btc, and flip between them
Now for example, on BTC-E, BTC is 100.98 USD, which is a little low compared to past few days, where FTC is .00108/BTC
so, my logic says FTC is high, and BTC is low.

so, I converted my FTC into BTC. I will wait for BTC to rise, and convert to FTC.

rinse and repeat
Not sure about other coins yet.
My goal is to successfully turn my .5269 initial BTC to 500+ FTC investment into 1BTC. without any losses.
