So much for this being the wrong decision. This is great.

Wallet updated. Do we need to change anything on the pools’ side?
              [/quote]

All pool daemons need to be updated to work properly after block 33,000.

It seems that the clients show out-of-sync until a new block is found which is taking a while at the moment. I will add this information to the first post.

              204 blocks to go :)

I’m gonna talk to BTC-e and get the exchanges to use the new version as well. That way the message gets out far and wide.

Maybe the stat software is not reporting correctly?
Seems like a very long block to find!
I had to restart my miner to sync with the pool I am running on. Maybe it has something to do with this ? I know it should not…

The stats page will be updated. Then it will look a lot better :)

The blocks seem to be going slower. A user called dodg_not_botnet seems to be away at the moment. He comes and goes on the fc.dontmine.me pool with about 100,000KH/s.

I am working on a way to get some more hash power to the pool other than my two new graphics cards that still have not arrived. I will give you more details shortly.

is there anyway to tell if the pool we connect to has been updated?

it is supposed to be the same pool. You just need the client to be the good one and it will take the good one in the future, at block 33,000.

I’ve contacted all the pools I know of by email and PM to upgrade. It might help if people contact them directly just to make sure that they get the message.

Question: if we haven’t opened the client in over a week, will this new client pick up the old transactions for us as well, or do we open the old one, sync, then install the new one?

The new client uses the same block chain so everything is still there exactly the same.

                                            Got it. Thanks!

Also, for confirmation (since there are a lot of smaller pools as well), how can we confirm whether or not the pool is switched over when the 33,000 block comes? My fear is we’ll have a lot of people seemingly getting valid hashes when in fact they aren’t or something.
