I’m a miner mainly with a couple of GPUs and have noticed FTC issues with diff going up 50% and hashrate dropping 75% so came here to see if there was any talk on sorting this out. I’ll be honest I haven’t been helping the issue :)

Hi Leroy,
The swings in difficulty have been a function of the changing face of altcoins, with miners jumping from coin to coin. You’ll notice that the hashrate is starting to level out somewhat, and the really wild swings have stopped, this will only get better as more people get on board and stay on board. To help with that, there are very many innovations being brought online, especially related to making FTC adopted in the “real” world.
Have a look around the forums and see what we’re doing, there’s a lot happening!
Oh, and welcome to the FTC forums.

Hi Leroy, welcome!
As spynappels has already said the fluctuations in difficulty are caused mainly by the short-sighted coin jumpers who use sites like coinchoose and coinwarz to choose the profitable ‘coin of the moment’ to mine. Once they’ve mined it to the point where the difficulty rises past their short-term profitablity window - they jump to the next coin and the difficulty goes down again.
The more solid long term miners we have the less of an issue that will be.
