Hi my name is Abigail. I decided to register on the forum to learn more about Feathercoin and the direction it is going in as well as to ask questions. I currently only mine Feathercoin using a dedicated computer getting 1752kh a second. I would like to ask something else. I have another Â£1200-1300 to spend on another mining computer should i buy that now or wait to the FPGA/ GUGPU comes available for pre-order so I can mine Feathercoin further?

Answering your question is not that easy=), its a gamble either way.

My opinion is that if you wait for a fgpa miner for scrypt with decent hash youÂ´d be waiting for a while.
So far iÂ´ve only seen proof of consept. Thats far from anything beeing delivered to end user.

I reasent purchased another 2x7970 and 1x7990, with good conscience, i see no problem breakin even on them ;)

Hey Abigail, thanks so much for joining us. Now that you have posted on the Newbies section checkout the Mining Forumhere: http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?board=2.0

If you don’t get any replies to this post I would suggest you ask there where it might get spotted. In terms of the direction we are taking Feathercoin the next thing to get implemented is Security updates to the network, we are also out working hard on merchant adoption and in fact if you are in the UK you are welcome to join us in Oxford where we have a pub that takes Feathercoin full time now:

There are more merchants in the pipeline and things that I will be able to talk about in the near future.

I have a Feathercoin Cash exchange that I run in London from Google Campus a few days per week and we are working hard on smsaddress.info to get the SMS Feathercoin wallets out and used more often. I am working with @UKMark doing UX and Usability.
