New: Turning rigs
-
Been on FTC for two weeks, new to forum though. Testing new quad core rig that I will FTC mine in hopes more will join in and value will turn. Chart seems to have stabilized for past 8hrs.

Awesome, nice to have you aboard

Welcome to the forums Sawyer, hopefully you mean quad GPU and not quad core. CPU cores won’t get you too far :P
-
Yeah, typo, quad 7950’s
-
I wanted to fit quad 7950’s in mine but it ran waaay to hot D: I’d like to get water cooling (since it’s my main rig) but at the cost for water blocks I don’t know if I should just wait for the 8xxx series to come out before investing in it.
had the same issue. had to downscale to 2x7970 instead of 4. If you deside to go for watercooling be carefull and chech that your cards uses amd default pcb!
Example Gigabyte pcm will not fit watercooling block due to custom pcb design…Alternative is to go for 7950 cards design to suck air from back to front and out of case (most card except reference cooler will dispears of heat out trough the sides…)
Im looking at buying 2x7990 instead to fix my issue, however those cards are at the moment hard to come by=)

Yea, not to mention those 7990’s are expensive haha. But yea I ended up getting the HIS cards. I wanted the ones that blow through the back but I couldn’t find any of them being sold :(
hehe allready paid down all my rigs/cards within 2 months of “smart” mining targeting and such, so its time to make new investments.
dual 7990 would be pretty sweet when i start my summer vacasion and can start with my hobby programming/development (IOS,Unity,Blender etc) -
Usiing a ASUS Sabertooth mobo, risers on two cards as the msi is too wide for standard install. That and being on a shelf 8" from a split unit AC keeps them cool.
