Please refrain from posting personal details of Cycloid.

Before I start this process off I will try to contact this chap to find a resolution outside of the courts.

In all honesty, you can go after him for libel. It’s in print and it’s derogatory.

That would be the legal course of action, especially since you have the name trademarked and your application was sent months ago I’m sure. There’s several examples of legal precedent that can be brought up in court if it went that far.

I dont sees any blackmail here. ChrisJ has only posted who this person is in real life so that we can sue the pants off him for cybersquatting (which is by definition blackmail against us). Using a domain for the purpose of profiting off of misrepresenting a brand or business is actually illegal and we can take legal action.
            [/quote]

I think our course of action should be:

            1. Allow Bushstar to seek a resolution via direct contact.
            2. If that fails, Pete can look into legal avenues - of which there are a few, and some are more expensive than others.

The main issue now is that discussing specifics of this on here can end up being damaging IF legal action is taken in the future. So, my advice is for us to give the topic a rest for a bit. I think Bushstar will provide us with updates as they happen and make sense to publicize.

He offered to sell the domains for $2000 which is more than it takes to this to WIPO. So I guess that I will take that route as they will rule that he registered the domains in bad-faith. It is very easy to prove that considering his behaviour on forums, PMs and with the domains themselves.

Good news everyone. After speaking with Cycloid he has transferred the domain feathercoin.net, feathercoin.org and feathercoin.info to us. Cycloid saw this as a bit of fun but could appreciate the seriousness of the situation and transferred the domains over. Thanks to Cycloid for handing the domains over to us.

Very good. I might ask him if we can use one of his tunes in one of our videos, they are pretty bad ass, in fact I was listening to his work while writing the news letter today, I’m sure he’d love to how he is inspiring us: https://soundcloud.com/CYCLOID
