Tried to buy some Infinitecoin and purchased 1.6M coins on ebay a few days back. Due to IFC’s problems the coins were lost and instead the seller offered me 70 FTC.

I now have 70 FTC and am curious as to what makes FTC a winner and whether I came out a winner on this deal?

I definitely think that it’s good you got FTC instead of IFC. Feathercoin has a great community that’ll help you with whatever you issues you have, has great support for its coin from its devs, and is being pushed constantly to be accepted by the public. In the past few days its worth has doubled, and although part of it may be to manipulation, I have no doubt that it reflects its worth.

What was the cost of 1.6M Inifinitecoin?

            70 FTC = ~$80.

If the seller sent the coins they are probably not lost, it’s just that the infintecoin wallet is a piece of crap. Back up the wallet file and wait for a fixed client or a solution becomes available.
