Like the subject says, i just got scammed by CapeVrob here in this Forum.
Good for me, it was only the test-trade with 20$ - 20Feathercoins and it was via paypal.
He contacted me via PM in the Forum asking if i´m still buying Feathercoin for Paypal and I said yes.
So far so good, but after i did the payment he didn´t respone to any PM and i dind´t receive any FTC yet.Now i told Paypal about it and they opened a conflict for the transaction…
I have to wait at least until the 7.December to get my money back.Long story short: Don´t trade with| Username: CapeVrob | Paypal-email: mapriester@yes.my | Paypal-name: Aiman Priester
Wouldn´t it be a good idea to add some sort of “Reputation/Trade answer” to the Forum, where Users can tell others about their trade experience with other users, to warn and/or inform others about who you can trust or not?
Greetings
Ah sorry to hear about that. Yes, some sort of trust system would be beneficial, but even those are not foolproof. You should only deal with reputable people, but with this being such a new community it’ll be a while before trust can be built up. You should get your money back via paypal as they normally side with the buyers.
Edit. He only signed up to these forums yesterday and has two posts. I suppose it’s also possible that he still may complete the deal, but you really need to excercise more caution here.

If he would still complete the deal that would be nice and i would appreciate it, but i don´t think so…
Before the deal he answered every PM directly and just after i did the Payment he stoped :/ -
I had a run in with him last night and it was actually funny how it worked out. I did a small test order and after I sent payment he responded claiming he would get me the FTC in a week or so. I immediately smelled the BS and filed a complaint. As expected paypal cancelled the transaction and refunded me my hard earned $$ within minutes. I attempted to get in contact with admins on the site so that they could take action but I was unsuccessful. Just so you know if you decide to take the risk of doing business over paypal again at the very least make sure they have rep on the site and make sure they are using a verified paypal account. Oh and if you don’t receive your FTC within say 10-15 minutes or the transaction information at least then that’s a sign of trouble.

I forgot to mention that I have dealt with a few legit paypal sellers and they all delivered the FTC I paid for in about 5 minutes of me sending them payment.
-
Yeah i told paypal about the conflict too, but didn´t receive my money back yet.
I opened a conflict on paypal too, but i have to wait until the 7.12.13 to order buyers secure (“Käufer Schutz” in german) and finaly get my money back…
How did you get yours back so quick?Except of the trade with him i had a very good trade with zerodrama before, i paid him and got my coins asap :) Every trade should work this way!
I think it might be because you are in Europe and I’m in the U.S., so they have different policies based on the laws of the respective countries. It sucks we have sh*t people in this world that try and pull this stuff on legitimate buyers/sellers.

Exactly it´s only 20$, thats why you allways do a test-trade before you send big money to someone onine.
He is from Malaysia… maybe he needet the money badly, you never know why these people do it.
I hope he won´t run into big problem with paypal now.Wouldn´t it be a good idea to link forum and market Accounts showing “positive trades/ neutral trades / negative trades” under the users Avatar?
This could work with some sort of “Request a Trade” System to open a trade in the forum before the actual trade takes place.
You would be able to see if a user allready had bad trades/scammed others, like CapeVrob did here. -

We need an eye for scams, there’s a lot of Newbie about. Scamming people is not a victimless crime and is not fair or legal.
Perhaps we should have a known / potential scamms thread under security?

Please use an escrow service for transactions of this kind.

Any news/updates from your paypal claims?
Exchanges. People don’t seem to be wanting to sell them on here at the moment, which is understandable if you believe in the currency.
