Powercolor 7950 cgminer settings - 600KH/s
-
Hello all, just wanted to throw out some information that may come in handy for someone.
First, a little background. I am new to crypto-coins. Been lurking here for the last days/weeks since I saw something on a newegg review about the performance of one of the 7950’s for coin mining. Fast-forward to yesterday and I just got my Powercolor 7950 and upgraded power supply (only 700w, but still) and got all setup and ready to rock and roll. Imagine my disappointment when my new shiny card only hashed at around 275KH/s when I was expecting around twice that. :'(
Well, after stumbling across http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php/topic,5000.0.html, I got pointed in the right direction. Thanks guys, especially nimmneun! Your discussion helped me out a TON.
Anyway, I wanted to post up my adjusted settings in case anyone else comes here looking for settings for a Powercolor card. I am running the following:
AMD 13.11_Beta9.4 driver
AMD APP SDK 2.8
cgminer 3.7.2Using the following settings, I am hashing at ~600KH/s with this card.
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o -u user.1 -p x -I 19 --temp-target 70 --auto-fan --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-engine 1010 --thread-concurrency 22400Please note, as I said, I have only been doing this for a couple of days, perhaps something about these settings is dangerous, but I dont believe it is. Test this out on your setup to ensure these work and are safe for your equipment. As usual, I accept no responsibility and YMMV and such. :)
Anyway, good luck!

Thanks!
I am really tempted to sell my GTX 680 for two 7950’s.
680 does a weak 200Kh/s, if I could upgrade without paying extra to do 1.2 MH/s, that’d be nice.I built this PC originally for gaming, so 2x 7950’s should be as good or better than 1 680.
(P.S, PSU is 950W, so that should suffice.)EDIT: Looks like I was dreaming… All the 7950’s are sold out, and are now $300 each on ebay. Damn… And the R9 280x is the same price as well.

Joannou1: if you are using cgminer you’re not getting the most out of your card. Try cudaminer I don’t remember the link off hte top of my head. But it gave me way better hashes on my old GTX 460 before my 7950’s came in. Was easier to use too.
stanfosd: I just got 3 of the same card in from newegg I’m getting about 620 per card but I have more overclock than you and I’m running an intensity of 20. very nice cards for the cost.
