Khash rate gradually getting worse and so on
-
Alright so, i used to mine for litecoins with the same rig i have now, (hd 5770) and i would usually get between 70 to the mid 100’s for a khash rate. I recently decided i wanted to mine again but this time for ftc. I tried to configure cgminer, but no matter what i would get at least 1 error, when that error was solved there was another. Back on topic, i switched to GUIminer and am using Reaper. my khash starts at 173 which is almost the highest ive seen, then it gradually makes its way down until at one point it was at 1 khash. I wanted to know why, and if its fixable. I also get a message said the driver stopped responding prior. Thanks
Welcome Jared. As I’m sure you know, you can find some idea of what hardware should be capable of and even some settings by checking out this hardware comparison chart https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison.
If you post some more info about your setup/errors you’ve been having, I’m sure someone on here can offer up some solid advice. What OS are you on? You should be able to sustain something right around the 173kh/s mark that you hit with that card.

Is your card overclocked? If I push my 7950 too far then my drivers can fail. Make sure your clock speeds aren’t too high and that your graphics card isn’t getting too hot.
-
Your hashrate is dead as soon as your driver crashed. Try decreasing intensity with the -I option. If 18 crashes it, try 15 or 12.
-
If your graphics is also rendering your GUI of your operating system your driver most likely crashed. I’d recommend lowering all your display settings resolution to graphical detail, make it look like Windows 95 if you have to. Then from there start your hashing program and make sure your GPU fan is running at decent speeds or it’ll get too hot. You might have got too hot and broke into VPU recover mode.

your problem is cooling. your gpu is working hard and it downclock itself when its starting go to hot. my solution to this change thermal grease. get better fans if you can. when overclocking find a stable 24/7 OC that works whit 100% gpu usage. 8)
if its not stable decrease gpu intensity in guiminer. dont use auto mode on fans when mining. i myself got a stable 24/7 100 gpu% usage OC on my 6950 (unlocked to hd6970) at 850core clock mem 1200clock fan speed manually on 69%. intensity 14.2 ;D
when im gaming i use 896core 1325 mem clock and auto fan speed. 8)
