Rare, English folk music tune book. Only 600 copies ever produced. Tunes from around Manchester and Lancashire UK, from an early 1800’s manuscript by Ellis Knowles, Bury.
Found with a superb violin by a repairer friend of mine in the 1990’s. I transcribed the most interesting tunes from EK’s manuscript and added some other tunes played historically around Lancashire and Cheshire. With special reference to the Cheshire 3/2 hornpipes, a special ‘high class’ dance time used to improvise long tunes for small pipes and listening. Those culminated with Purcell when music started to be written down and published in the 1660’s.
In the original first published tune books, such as Playford’s, these tunes would be identified as Northern tune or Lancashire Hornpipe.
I published the book in 1997, there are a few copies left I’m putting 3 up Buy it now for 2 weeks.

Thanks for the comments “peoples”, I have just got round to setting up the Market for my Folk tune book again.
Due to the reduction of FIAT currency against Feathercoin, I’ve had to increase the price, happy bidding.
These are my Market testing notes so far…
1. Didn’t get any messages about the deliberate error of Intentional shipping, is it to hard to find how to message someone? Does the message come as PM? can I have an email, which I check more often?
2. Message on page: incorrect number… pretty big photo.
You can upload up to 5 photos. Each photo must be smaller than 1048576 KB.
[Upload Pictures]3. In the upload photo’s window, after uploading images twice the “add button vanished” (could still drag and drop a photo, or restart the image up loader). Maybe, close the window after image upload would be quick fix.
4. Couldn’t see how to stop the last auction.
Not a stopper.
