FTC Poker?
-
Hi everyone,
I am thinking of developing a FTC Poker to take advantage of FTC/LTC/WDC’s faster block verification times as compared to BTC. The idea is to make poker games happen without any deposits or accounts - going with the anonymity of it all. Imagine a Sit N Go with a few players where the game starts when funds have been received from all players and verified, and dishes out the payment once the game is over. Is this feasible with FTC? How long will it take to verify the initial buy-in payment (presumably 2:30 right?) and would WDC be even better?

I would be intereted in coding and maintaining such. If someone want to team up with me, just send me a PM.
Nah, don’t even bother to wait the 2:30. Let em play as soon as you see the transaction.
Just don’t allow cash-outs on accounts with unconfirmed balances.

So what happens if a game starts, and the loser happens to not have the chips since it wasn’t verified? Can this happen?
There might be some kind of session based idea too, so players connect to the server, optionally load their account with FTC, play with it, and cash out upon disconnect. That way they only have to wait 2:30 once…
Yes. Inside of the block time, and assuming they manage to successfully pull of a double spend, it’s conceivable that they could get into a game, lose it all, and then double spend the inputs back to themselves. It could happen. You’re average time to pull it off: 1:25, since on average you’ll be unconfirmed for 0 to 2.5 minutes.
If that’s really a concern, then waiting for a few confirmations won’t kill anyone but I’m sure your users won’t love it.

Oh dear, this is such a good idea, which might cost me my coins… must - not - play - poker
