        That’s easy.

BTC is crashing against fiat. FTC is maintaining it’s value against fiat, which looks like a price increase against BTC.

FTC has ALWAYS been a great hedge against BTC, because it tends to track it’s price against fiat pretty consistently.

        Thats basically it.

Mine another coin temporarily and convert it to FTC. Its been working well for me so far! By doing that it increases FTC’s value and your coins will be more diverse.

Doing the same here, give’s me between 30% and 70% more FTC than mining directly on FTC…

Same, I’m smashing DOGE and buying FTC, getting almost twice the amount I would if I was mining…

I am currently doing WDC and switching between FTC and WDC depending on which is more profitable.

hashco.ws is on WDC, and multipool.us… appears to be down but is usually on DOGE or TIPS, and occasionally LOT.

Although I’ve been told that God kills a kitten every time you submit a share to a coin-switching pool, you unamerican kitten hating terrorist you.

I guess the big hope is that everyone’s timing is right that after all other opportunities of an easy mine have been extinguished that they’ll return to the fold and reinforce the network of the coin they have the most holdings of.

Why is anybody buying overpriced coins now? Must be insider info, I bet on FTC/USD soon.

Well I knew this was going to happen :(

I stuck a 500 coin buy in last night on https://bittylicious.com with the intention of doing 3 or 4 more after the 1st had gone through (I like to push them out to different address) and then the bank locked me out of my on-line account during the 1st transaction so had to can the whole exercise. Not had time to pick it up again yet today and when I do I see the price has risen :-[

Sitting here drinking the profits I could have made

                                  UM

You get +1 rep for that one sir.

But let’s be real for a second: You have it exactly right. You’re hedged against Bitcoin. But Bitcoin isn’t going anywhere. It’s not going to zero, and it’s showing a LOT of staying power around 700, despite the fact that this time last year it was under 100. You should be really clear that Bitcoin is going to come back, and when it does FTC is very likely to go back down against it, simply because it’s not nearly as well adopted.

This is where the smart people sell FTC, and the not so smart ones buy FTC. In two weeks, you’ll be hearing “When is FTC coming back?” again from the latter half of that group, and in 3-6 months, when BTC crashes again, is of course the answer.

These things are cyclic. The ONLY sure bet you can reasonably make is that fiat will continue to inflate, and crypto will continue to be adopted.

Indeed. I would say 60% of my portfolio is Delta neutral or Delta hedged in nature - I actively trade/hedge to keep it that way. The other 40% is simply diversified in BTC, LTC, and FTC long term - they partially offset each other naturally of course, but ultimately I am not concerned with the cyclic nature of that portion of my portfolio.

You do your fellow FTC brothers a great service by helping them to understand the wisdom of this strategy. Buy and hold with diversification based hedging. We can say you knew us when in 20 years when you own your own private island.
