Dealing with Fraud or Desire without Hope
-
Fraud is a pet hate of mine. Liars and cheats keep coming in to my life. And right now with the Gox debacle fast looking like there has been something dodgy going on I thought I would voice some thoughts that are coming to me.
Most frauds are not consciously aware they are frauds. Deep down they know they lie or misrepresent their capabilities. But that is just the symptom on the surface. At its core Fraud is about Fear. Fraud is about desire without hope, a constant struggle to keep moving without actually getting anywhere, stuck in the same negative patterns refusing to see familiar things in new ways.
They don’t know how to ask for help; a very human thing.
They choose the short term over the long term; paying for the present by stealing from the future.
They undermine the hard work of those around them; squandery (learning from the past and finding opportunities is also a very human thing).
They tell themselves a story about how the world is a violent place and how everyone is bad and greedy and instead of choosing hope, instead of seeing an opportunity for change and inspiring leadership they choose despair.
They deliberately sabotage others, lying to them and then mocking them for being gullible enough to fall for their lies. They borrow money from friends with no intention of paying it back and then blame the victim, taunting them until they retaliate and then their stories of the dark world with cruel people starts to become true and they can stand back and say to themselves ‘look, see? I knew the world was dark place’.
Well yes, if you have already made your mind up about how the world is and then put that much effort in to making it a reality then indeed that’s what you will get.
The universe is a reflection of our consciousness.
I just want to have impact. I see so much opportunity in the world but right now, there is so much work that needs to be done, why are so many people caught up in short term profits and luxuriating in their consumer lifestyles?
We need more people like Dr. Remen here. I am bringing you in about 24mins in when she tells a story about how to find meaning in life. About being able to look at familiar things in new ways. I hope you find it inspiring.
Thanks so much for sharing. I always feel enlightened when I watch those Zeitgeist videos but I do feel as though they are very political and when you go to their events one of the first things you notice is their agenda. They have a point of view and they want you to believe what they believe and this is just the same old system.
What’s lacking right now is curiosity. Responding to unique situations in unique and appropriate ways. I love the ideas that come out of the Zeitgeist but then they start having a go at Milton Freedman and I facepalm. They are just pushing an agenda. The fact is we should be drawing on history as a toolkit of ideas and strategies.
I may choose to take a conservative position on this matter, a socialist idea for this other issue we have and maybe I like to take some stuff from 19th century Russian anarchism for when it comes to another problem we face over here. The point is you can’t just choose a political system and then say this works for everything. Risk is distributed. It requires agility, strong moral leadership, resilience. Not comfortable labels where we all know where we stand.
What we are experiencing is a lack of leadership. Our values systems are rotten. Too many people do not want to learn, they just prop up our lifestyles with convenient lies. This has to stop. We can stop this anytime we like.

Some of the important messages in some of these films are lost on me when they go way off on a tangent.

yes they do have an agenda which i kind of like or prefer to the one we are offered now but the financial system and globalization, world governance, one very interesting book about this topic is Limits to Growth by the Club of Rome… and Agenda 21 (United Nations Conference on Environment & Development. Rio de Janerio, Brazil, 3 to 14 June 1992)
But what really nice about moving forward is the first part about human nature and that nothing is genetically predetermine but rather environment determine our genes.regarding Milton Freedman there is one very nice documentary by Naomi Klein’s The Shock Doctrine.

I think the world suffers from Pluralistic ignorance.
