Stablecoin, NXT, Vertcoin ... anyone?

Anyone beta testing the mixing service for Stablecoin? Anyone know any details outside of the bitcointalk post? Anyone know why the price is tanking when the service is allegedly about to roll out?
Back in December I was selling SBC at around .00039 and I just loaded up (again) at .000030! I’m expecting a nice return on this venture after the mixing service is released (and still no Zerocoin until Summer!).
Last night I’m reading up in a NXT forum and see they are trying to implement Zerocoin protocol. They even asked ZC Project about using NXT themselves, but apparently never received a response, so they are on their own. I’m pretty sure they were asking after Matthew Green and the others decided to make their own coin.
I “think” a person who studies with Matthew Green at Johns Hopkins is behind Vertcoin. I read up a little on the coin and the Dev and he’s a masters student at … Johns Hopkins and he use to work for Microsoft. I’m not so sure this is a Pump & Dump coin as it’s been called.

This tonight from NXT …
Of the 7 peers currently listed after sign on, there are 4 different versions running. 3 of those versions have serious problems. :-\
NXT will probably go down as the most hacked coin ever. I would venture to say more % of coins per user have been stolen from NXT users vs any other coin in existence and it’s in it’s infancy. It’s mostly due to password strength, but I blame the Dev’s for not making the risk a little more obvious to new users. Finally in v6.0 (v5 just half heartedly suggested you should probably use a longer password if less than 30 chars) there is a strong warning about passwords prior to creating an account, but there should probably be more security than a simple text warning.
Still, I like NXT and think it has a bright future. They’re simply taking some things for granted and new users to crypto are getting burned in the process. I will give them this … from what I’ve seen they have really strived to retrieve stolen funds to users and catch those who are stealing. I’m not sure how well that’s played out, but they are making a big effort. I just don’t think these new users should be put in this position in the first place.

How exactly is NXT different from Ripple?

How exactly is NXT different from Ripple?
[/quote]To be honest, I’ve never looked into Ripple so I can’t answer that question. Here is my understanding of NXT …
There were less than 75 original investors who took a risk on the project and received x coins for each BTC invested.
An exchange was setup to sell those coins.
Other people bought some coins.
You forge coins by running the NXT app and unlocking your wallet in the browser.
According to the # of coins you hold, you will process a block in x time and receive the fees. This is forging for coins.
There are a [s]shit[/s]boatload of apps on the way for NXT, all of which sound very interesting.
I own NXT.That’s about the extent of my knowledge outside of … upgrade quickly and often and make a very very long strong password.
Oh yeah and it is touted as being able to handle as many transactions as MC/Visa and just as fast.

I mined a little bit of vert but that’s about the extent of it.

Vertcoin’s been dropping steadily over the past couple of days. Currently at 0.0028 BTC on Cryptsy.
Is Tuck still mining Vertcoins?
I’ve got about 50 VTC on hold right now, eeks!

Yep, still mining Vertcoin (and Riecoin and forging NXT on same box).
These three are my sleeper cell that will blow every one’s minds in 2014. =)

I added a few Protoshares or bitshares-PTS (as they’re now called) to my portfolio tonight and I started mining Synergy Coin (SYN) on release.
