Open source p2p market place

There is a need being highlighted for an open source p2p market place.
Whilst Feathercoins efforts with it’s market move in the right direction we have had to compromise on a centralised solution and buy propriety systems to make it work for the members.
With any future solution there might still be some residual central systems, such as reputation. These can be replaced by p2p reputation system once the market has been proved.

I would suggest the market system could be based on Bitmessage technology. Sellers run “miners” which secure the system, the user sees the temporary database of unread messages, in this case sale offers. The buyer secures the system and the two keys are required to complete a sale.
I have never run Silk Road, but that looks a good model for the front end system. I don’t envisage this as a dark system, in fact the reputation system could end up very public. More like a “Freecycle” for garage sale items, as the original eBay…
