[Solved] No block source available.

If it is a new wallet, try to delete the *.dat files for feathercoin, or even the full feathercoin data directory and start the client again.
I’m not sure where they are located in a windows installation, but it should be under your %appdata% directory.
Also check for blocking personal firewalls and firewalls on your router/internet connectin if there are any.
If that doesn’t help, you may need to add another wallet’s ip manually to get a initial connection to the blockchain.

Thanks for your reply. Any idea what ports the client is using? How can I find another wallet’s IP?
-
The port for the wallet is tcp 9336
For the IP’s to connect to here a list of IP my wallet is connected to:
68.179.245.159:9336 ESTABLISHED
75.83.168.128:9336 ESTABLISHED

In order to open it simply go to help->debug window and then click on ‘open debug log file’

Thanks very much. That’s excellent. I’ll try that when I get home. If I could, I’d rep you!
-
Just found out: the rep is the little green/white arrow at the bottom of each post ;)
-
Ahh, so it is. Seems to be a post by post rep system. Rep for that too haha.

If anyone else has this problem, try opening the wallet software, walk to the fish tank, feed the fish, hear SWMBO’s less than subtle suggestion that if you are on my feet your feet you can make a brew. Make brew, hand brew to SWMBO, who looks smug, presumably because she thinks she has outwitted you, resist temptation to explain that you know her game. Walk back to PC, and tada! It’s working.
I figured I’d sit down and get this working tonight. After weeks for it not working it’s suddenly come to life, I’d like to say it was Wellenreiter’s instructions above which helped (thanks again), but I can’t, truth is I loaded he program up ready to try the suggestions, made a brew and it’s alive. *shakes fist* WHY WHY WHY!
-
lolz, you could have told her the brew wasn’t made by you, but by me via proxy :)
-
I’ll save that one for when I’m really in trouble. Haha.

Well, the program uses needs an initial feed to get blockchain data. this is obtained through a list of known nodes, whichnis part of the program package.
Sometimes the first nodes in the list are not accessible and in rare occasions this leads to a situation, where it takes hours to get the block chain loaded. If you get hold of a list with IP adresses currently online you can speed up the process ;)

Wellenreiter. Thanks again. ;D
