Aggrieved user attacked by Feathercoin community in Flame Topic
-
If somebody wants to discuss something I have in the past said in a constructive manner - I am more than happy to do so.
-
I’m sorry that this may upset you but I am not going to remove content from this forum. People got upset by what you said and talked about it here. Looking around at crypto coin forums in general you often see a fair bit of ‘other’ coin bashing and we try to make sure this sort of thing is kept to a minimum and generally does not happen. The only reason it happened here is because you took the time to bash Feathercoin in the first place.
Saying Feathercoin is dead is your opinion but please do not get upset when others disagree with you.
As far as I can tell you are in the UK, we are a UK based coin. We have meetups once a month in a pub in Oxford. Not sure if that is a long trek for you but you are welcome to come along.

I have nothing against Feathercoin. Nor am I all in with Worldcoin. The flamethread about me was based on an article I did with Koolio in which I asked him (once during the whole article) about his views on UNOCs and Worldcoins success Vs FTC and PXCs’ demise. Yes, I referred to FTC and PXC as failed coins, because at that time they were failing. The price of FTC had more than halved and there was no community presence felt outside this forum. In retrospect it was an inappropriate thing to ask Koolio because it beared no relation on the topic. I actually was just curious as to his opinion. It was not an attempt to attack Feathercoin, god knows I do that enough about Worldcoin - it’s nothing personal. Ok so regarding my comments in ‘the trollbox’. I read the post you just added above and actually didn’t find great reference to my past views regarding Feathercoin. I think you ought to look at mcxnow’s trollbox - that gives you a much more accurate picture of my thoughts.
Bear in mind though that:
-
It’s a trollbox. Lots of fud, lots of abuse, lots of tittle tattle.
-
I have been much more harsh on LTC. As you may discover - and no, I don’t hate LTC, nor feel any ill will to them either. I am disappointed in them though. They appear to have lost all focus.
The great exception I took from my reading of the flamethread was one particular comment that suggested I was lying about the whole interview with Koolio. Nobody here corrected it, yet everyone was invited. One thing I am not - is a liar.

Yes it is not dead. I meant it metaphorically as that is how it appeared from the outside in. Much like LTC, NMC, SC (which actually is dead), and TRC appear.
I apologise if you take offense to that. More of a display of how i felt about the activity here at that time than anything else.

So Xodianbarr, as you are active WDC member, can you please share your point of view on current WDC situation? I mean end of Worldcoinfoundation and creation of Commite, looks very strange to me.

WDC is in turmoil right now. It all comes down to the failure of Scharmbeck, which many view as being wholly like UNOCs v2. The foundation board worked for the foundation and three members decided to create Scharmbeck. Against my advice - I might add. I asserted that it would prove a conflict of interests and be damaging to Worldcoin as a whole if it went wrong - which is exactly what happened. I quit working for them at that time because of this.
The commitee
Upon discovering the terrible affect Scharmbeck was having on Worldcoin and being privvy to the inner workings of Worldcoin Foundation led me to act upon my feelings that the relationship had to end. In this regard i proposed to the committee that they stand down from the board. They each in turn agreed. The problem then was the fact that Worldcoin Foundation was actually owned as a business entity by one of the board members. This presented a significant problem because of potential legal issues down the line.
For that reason a meeting was held including founding members of Worldcoin (the guys some people will know here), one of the ex board members, and myself. After much discussion it was decided that the foundation could not be used and a new committee had to be formed. I approached several long standing members of the Worldcoin community who have shown support to Worldcoin throughout all the problems and asked them to consider forming a new committee. I am happy to say they agreed. Having members who have a positive interest in improving Worldcoin can only be seen as a good thing. The committees primary role is to oversee the creation of a new organisation that cannot be ‘owned’ by one particular person and is subject to strict rules to ensure that a positive objective is maintained.
My situation with regard to this is a complicated one. Although I formed part of the committee I have recently stepped down (to be honest my only aim was to ensure things start going in the right direction). I remain an influential member of the community there only.

Xodianbarr, I have pm’d you.
Let’s get this sorted out and all go on our merry way.
We should all stop focusing on old wounds and get back to working on the betterment of both our own coins.
This does nothing but waste time and efforts which could be spent uplifting WDC and FTC.
This is all ridiculous and somewhat makes me sad to know this sorta stuff is happening to 2 coins I care dearly about.
Provided the free market chooses which coins live and die, I want a world where all coins can live in harmony. By carrying on like this though, neither FTC or WDC will be looked positively upon.

To anyone who is wondering what it was that feathercoiner’s had said, 4 months ago, to upset Xodianbarr, and start this chain of grief and thread locking here on the forum, it is this thread, of which, he is asking us to delete. -> https://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?/topic/3369-intesting-quote-from-an-interview/
The thread was in response to this interview xodianbarr did with Koolio. -> http://worldcoinforum.org/topic/436-koolio-talks-about-his-work-with-scrypt-fpgas/

Well, either delete or discuss. I have no shame about the past, but my reputation is important enough to me that I defend it. I thank you for giving this due consideration Calem.

I’m not sure if any hard feelings are going away by all these new topic’s or will create even more hatred. I was not around during the WDC battle if I may call it that way, but heaving read this all I’m not sure this is saving your reputation by bringing this up again (like Bush said).
I liked the answer you gave on mirrax’ question - I prefer you having here sharing knowledge instead of any previous mud throwing (whether intentional or not).
-
What should be up for discussion / debate, is maybe how the interview was conducted. But once again. I see no wrong doing by either party.
Opinion is not against forum rules. Neither the ftc forum, nor Xodianbarr, have broken what I consider forum rules.
How about this.
If Xodianbarr retracts his interview, we will retract all threads regarding it.
Let’s all just forget about it. This is making everyone look bad.
Thoughts people?
edit
I can’t find where anyone called Xodianbarr a liar… Can someone link me?

We were meant to throw opinions, so if one shouts one out, one should be able to catch it. I don’t see why retracting is needed here. He gave his opinion on the Feathercoin in his interview and some replied on it with their thoughts on Xodianbarr himself.
-
Ok… sorry. no one is censoring anything.
How about this thread, and the two locked threads get moved to off topic… that way, newbies don’t get exposed to this … issue…
-
That way, we can all continue discussing without anyone’s reputation been damaged more so than what has already happened.

Were this interview conducted here I would be entirely in agreement, as it stands I there is only one question asked by myself which is objectionable. I actually would be happy to remove that question for no better reason than it was off topic and unnecessary. But not the interview. The interview (as I’m sure you can appreciate) was not about Feathercoin or Worldcoin, it was about Koolio’s business. As for the rules that I earlier commented on. I should rather have said your ‘code of conduct’. Below is the rule that I feel has been breached:
3. Trolling, Attacks and Flaming: These are always forbidden.
-Trolling is posting in a way that provokes emotional responses.
-Attacks and derogatory terms of any kind are not welcome. This includes references to other Crypto Currencies and those who support them.
-Flames are messages that personally attack or call any people names or otherwise harass. These, along with any generally condescending posts will be edited or removed at the moderators discretion.I believe that my actions may have caused the moderators to believe I was in breach of this section:
-If a thread is flame-bait (appears to be intended to start an argument or is likely to cause an argument rather than enhance discussion, as in trolling), it will be locked or removed without notice. Individual flame-bait comments in a post may be deleted or edited at the moderators’ discretion.
I can assure it is not my intent to cause a rift. This I feel is nothing to do with Worldcoin. It is my defending myself against what I see as an attack on me as a person.

Entirely why I am having this discussion in the first place.
-
I see no issue either side.
To be honest. The discussion seems reasonable here. Your interview, was reasonable. The comments made in regards to interview, reasonable.
Maybe the gun was jumped with locking those threads. But the discussion is now been had here.
We could delete the locked threads, but that removes any point of reference for both sides of the discussion.
So to reiterate…
The only issue here is that Xodianbarr beleives he is been silenced?
If thats the case. Let’s keep this going… I have nothing else up for the next rest of my life…
-

Yup, but it wasn’t our choice to bring it up again.

I’ll stand right beside you Calem, yay!

You should not get offended. This is the internet. Discussion false or true statements should fix any shady views, so that’s what is happening right now. IMO the other posts were kind of mud throwing which you, obviously now, did not want to do.
I don’t mean to sound rude, but what’s the thing you want to happen now?

Well worthy debate serves to better us all. I will remove the ‘offending question’ asked by myself in Worldcoin forum for no better reason that it was a bad question to ask and off topic. I am very happy to quell any rumours associated with me and the animosity it is believed I have toward Feathercoin. I would rather see communities work together, not against one another. I was actually quite shocked to see that some people held me in low regard here.
