        I was wondering.
Is the prop system really better than PPLNS?

I get many inconsistencies with pools that use the prop system. Sometimes I earn way more but most of the time it’s pretty bad. I know its got something to do with the number of round shares of a given block.

But it seems as if prop system is often favored over PPLNS.

There’s no difference in payout amounts.

Prop simply divides the CURRENT block reward by all shares submitted that round and apportions the payouts to the miners according to the shares they submitted. PPLNS does almost exactly the same but spreads it out over x number of blocks.

In terms of payout amounts they will be identical. Only difference is that for PPLNS you have to wait for a few blocks before you get paid (and you will also get paid for a few block AFTER you stop mining) whereas PROP will pay as soon as the block is found for that round. As soon as you stop mining, your payouts stop too.

We chose prop as too many n00b miners scream scam on PPLNS pools as they feel they don’t get paid whilst the ramp up occurs.

            HAHA!!

Nutnut had a N00b moment. In copying over the “accounts” table from the old pool i forgot to apply a change on the table so no-one could register! :-[

Sorted now (over the w/e actually but…)

See - it happens to us all. ;D
