Wallet software supports iPhone yet?

Can iPhone users download the FTC wallet ?
-
Sorry, but the answer is no.
I’m not an expert here, but to my knowledge is the main reason, that the apple policy does not permit to provide the wallet through the apple store.

Apple has removed all crypt-currency “wallet” and transaction processing apps from their store by policy. Here’s a generalization of the different store policies:
Apple iOS Store Policy is Profit Motivated
-
No consumer payment applications allowed unless:
-
- iOS API’s are used (and Apple gets a cut of the proceeds)
-
- Special arrangements made between company and Apple (giving Apple licensing and/or proceed dollars).
Windows Phone Store Policy is Customer Safety Motivated
-
No consumer payment applications unless:
-
- Phone Wallet API is Used (and Microsoft vets all Wallet API companies for legitimacy)
-
- Customer relationship exists in the real world (e.g. you login to your Bank “account” through the app).
-
- Financial Data is entered via HTTPS on phone so user knows it’s “secure”
Android Phone Store Policy is Community Policed
-
Anything Goes unless
-
- Complaint is Filed

We should add iphone Apps, to the discussion on all mobile wallets, including the android wallet, In technical development.
There are “work around” being developed using HTML or Web wallets. It’s early days with those, there is an opening here for that to be adapted for Feathercoin or be Alt-coin configurable.

The problem with HTML or Web wallets is that you are not the owner of the wallet: it is not on your phone it is on the server.
This means you need to trust the service provider and if they are hacked or have any kind of problem, loose your FTC or you have to be sure they will reimburse you…
If they are down, you cannot use your wallet.
If we depend on apple, google, MS… is it possible to create a simple secured wallet device ? It could use your phone, wifi or 3g card to be online and allow you to do everything a wallet can do…
Does it make sense ?
