Hello all, recently gained a GTX 770, so my 660Ti became redundant, i thought, why not mine with it! afterall i get free electricity (university accomodation), so i set about finding a good coin to mine.
Bitcoin, asics… my 160Mh/s gpu is not going to gain bugger all in a net rate of multiple Ph/s lol
Doge, well that recently became merged and is hence now almost imposible to get anything worthwhile from it, also asic scrypt miners (pfff asics… i hate them xD)
Many other scrypt and sha256 coins, seemed to be dominated by pretty useless devs, or were pretty much pointless
then i found Feathercoin with Neoscrypt, the non asic/fpga algorithm (hooray)
i mined it with my 660Ti, and soon i was able to set my Team Fortress 2 servers idle cpu miners on it aswell, i find its the most rewarding, and by the looks of things, also has a very good community built around it, so far i’ve earned around 170 FTC from 1 gpu (2 with a friend helping by running his occasionally) and a couple of cpus in just a week :D
i look forward to staying with Feathercoin in the near and far future
also, i have a bit of spare cash lying around, are HD 5850’s any good for Neoscrypt mining? they seem to be pretty cheap on ebay hehe
could throw together a couple of 2 card rigs (got 2 mobo/cpus from old pcs) for the fun of it
