[Support] Wallet, fast synchronization - Dropbox and Torrent
-
Hello:
Could inforrmarme if there is a method to quickly sync your wallet. At the current rate of my connection I think it would take between 48-72 hours, but have a friend who has a synchronized wallet. I can copy the data?
Sorry for adding to your post without permission. Regards, Calem. :(
Here is the link for the torrent: - http://mgnet.me/ZTvGdF0

As far as I know the answer is yes. But you would need to be careful which files you copy as some are your actual addresses etc.
If your on windows navigate to
%appdata%/Feathercoin and copy these folders./blocks
/blocks/index
/chainstateJust don’t take your wallet.DAT
In fact make sure your wallet is encrypted before you do this just in case.
Can some validate I’m correct here before he does it??

Tuck has hosted the files i mentioned for download if that’s any use. http://goo.gl/AT3IB0

I present the first official FTC BC Torrent.
If you are doing a fresh install of the ftc wallet and require an external method to download the Blockchain, Above is the 2015 DropBox. and below, is the Torrent.

Torrent Magnet URI #mgnet.me #torrent http://mgnet.me/ZTvGdF0If these links or lines of code are broken or are not working correctly, let me know. I’m actually new to Mgnet.me
Soon we will not need trackers as the magnet link will be embedded in the FTC BC itself via the “Link” Protocol. FTC Link tools coming soon.

The drop box is still a better option. Not many if any are seeding the torrent currently. But as proof of concept, the torrents network could be perfect for assisting blockchain initial distribution. (fresh wallets)
I have an idea that will create tons of blockchain nodes to download from.
There’s a p2pool mod for PoW i heard about that requires the miner to actually have the blockchain stored locally to mine… By Etherum. I need to read more, but it looks to be an alternative to PoS.
