      Re: Wallet Problem

      Hi!.

Suprnova is closing FTC Pool “Pool is closing, please stop mining!”. Bittrex has inactives all FTC wallets “We are aware of the fork on the Feathercoin block chain and this is why the wallet is closed. We’ve gone to the recommended version but the wallet came up in safe mode, therefore we are now going to an earlier version. At this time I do not have an ETA as to when FTC will be back online.”.

I ask: Who is responsible for all coin mined days ago?.

      Best regards,

@orion1424 Coins mined by Suprnova are on the correct chain. They may be traded on Cryptopia and other exchanges once they update.

Yeah, id really like to know which is right. I assumed 0.9.3 was right but once ghost questioned it I now second guess my assumption. I hate to be wasting this hashing by being on the wrong chain.

@Wellenreiter There is no way wallets other than v0.9 can switch to the v0.9 chain. Besides much more hash power has been put into the v0.8/v0.11 chain and these coins are deposited/traded at Cryptopia at least while those v0.9 coins are of no use. It’s clear which chain should be chosen.

so far, oonly Crytopia can do d FTC - BTC exchanges…?
so far, oonly blockchain protocol v0.8/v0.11 can do exchanges…?

to make d transfer, wallet n mining-pool need to have a same protocol…?
how to check protocol version or any data that can get for each FTC coin…?
ie : coin time-stamp, ‘DOB’ of coin, coin movement, etc…etc…

I can’t tell which exchangs are on which chain

There is no official release of any 0.11.X. All 0.11.x versions should be deemed as Alpha or Beta versions and handled with care. Currently I won’t recommend these for any mining or exchange related usage.

Correct, if you transfer coins sender and receiver must be on the same chain.

Basically you can check by the block count of your client. The 0.9.x chain, as Ghostlander named it, is ~500+ blocks ahead of the chain where all 0.8.7 clients reside
On the other hand, there are 0.9.x clients on the chain, where the 0.8.7 clients reside, so the client version as shown by the feathercoind getpeerinfo or the gui console command getpeerinfo is an indicator but no proove, that a client is on the chain of the 0.8.7 cients
