      Hi Everybody

I am new here.I am also pretty new to the world of feather coin.
Most recently i have been bitten by the mining rig bug and have been doing some research.
what i want to know is
1.what is the maximum hash rate you can mine with a good gpu card.
2.Some GPU’s say they have a hash rate of 25 mhs .Is all the 25mhs used in the mining process or does it mine at a slower rate.
3.I calculated my approx earning in coinwarz by putting in 25000 Kh/s(25mhs) and got a result of 40,000USD profit per year.can i really mine at this rate.
4.Any tips on the best gpu to use to mine feather coins.

All help will be much appreciated
      thanks!!!

        Hi there.

You need to look into the algo being used. Feathercoin uses Neoscrypt which is harder than Litecoin’s Scrypt which is harder than Bitcoins’s SHA-256 …

1.what is the maximum hash rate you can mine with a good gpu card.

This depends on what coin you are mining, which means what mining algorithm you’re using.
          (Bitcoin = SHA256, Litecoin = Scrypt, Feathercoin = NeoScrypt)
This also depends on what kind of card you have and what you consider (Good)

Myself, for an example mine with 1 AMD 280X and get 300 Kh/s on that 1 card.

2.Some GPU’s say they have a hash rate of 25 mhs .Is all the 25mhs used in the mining process or does it mine at a slower rate.

I’ve basically answered this in question 1 - again. if the GPU seller reports 25 mhs - then you need to find out what coin was being mined.

3.I calculated my approx earning in coinwarz by putting in 25000 Kh/s(25mhs) and got a result of 40,000USD profit per year.can i really mine at this rate.

No because you haven’t understood the mining aspect fully, which I believe I’ve explained in question 1. 25K Kilo Hashes Per second is around 80 - AMD 280x cards and with the GPU drought will set you back a pretty penny. If you did have 25K Killo Hashes of NeoScrypt hashpower then theoretically your returns per year at the current price would be around 40K Usd Per Year.

4.Any tips on the best gpu to use to mine feather coins

It depends how serious you are on mining. Nvidia use less power/electricity but sometimes have slightly less hash power per card and can cost a lot more USD per card.

AMD use more power/electricity and cost less per card.

          I hope this helps

Thanks a lot for that info…
So with a 1 AMD 280X how many feather coins/ litecoins can u mine a month…as i am looking into both those to start with.

I haven’t mined litcoines since they had ASICs developed for them.

I cant give you an exact figure, i’d say use a mining calc with a base hashrate of 300 KH/s and go from there.

I turn my miners on and off and experiment with them so I dont have any good stats to hand.

                I can’t tell about Litecoin.

For Feathercoin there are 80 coins generated every about minute in the total network.

This is equal to 80*1440= 115 200 coins per day.
The total hashrate currently is about 2.524 GHash

So your monthly income would be = (115200/2540000)*180 * 30 (Days of month)

It’s ~ 108 FTC per month = ~ 8 USD at the current exchange rate of 0.079 USD per FTC

I hope my calculation is correct.

The profitability of crypto coins change every day, if not every hour.
Therefore nobody can give you a valid answer to your question.

As you think about mining several coins to optimize your income, I suggest you try out a multi coin pool.

These pools calculate the profitability of the coins they support and switch their pool to the most profitable coin every x hours.

You also can select if you want to mine sha256, scrypt or neoscrypt based coins.
