WALLET Wont sync
-
When a Wallet tries to connect to the network first time, it needs to get the addresses of one or more peers to download the blockchain. To get these peers, it connects to a special node, called seeder, which tracks all active nodes and provides the ip addresses to new nodes. The address of the seeder(s) is hardcoded in the client code.
The behavior you describe is a typical symptom, that no seeder is reachable.
You solved the problem the right way, by adding a node to your client with the addnode command. You node now maintains a list on known nodes, so that the problem should not occur again.
If it occurs again, you need to contact the UFO developers and inform them, that their seed node is down. -

@xonar Something wrong with UFO wallet/masternodes/whatever today? Sync is stuck on block 1080513 from this morning. Mining sites all having problems too. Any big changes happen that I didn’t read about? :hushed:

Nevermind. Seems to be fixed now. :)

Hi, these situations happen when no miner activity presence (bored mining pools) or when the miners activities goes low against the extraction difficult. Pay attention in the explorer to the dificult extraction. The bockchain is rock solid.

Ok, just seems odd that it started to do this only one day ago. Hashrates went up when UFO went from 2 sat to 6 on coinexchange. Mining-dutch multipool started switching large miner/farms back and forth between FTC and UFO. Who knows what coins NiceHash has in its neoscrypt pool, but it went from 25MH/s jumping to over 2GH/s in the last few days…
Some folks in chats are saying the diff retargeting algo might be broken; this issue only showed up recently when hashrates started rising/swinging around.
I’ve never seen this happen on any other coin (in my limited 3-year experience), including FTC or other neoscrypt family coins (ORB, PXC).

seems, UFO coin got some ‘attraction’ ehh…

differents in 4 - 5 sats price increase, huge different in hashing… :metal:

Yes, I think it’s caused for the Nite’s Gravity security , this the short explanation of Nite’s Gravity shield implementation of UFO
“” Additionally, UFO coin have implemented Nite’s Gravity Well, which allows for rapid response to hash rate changes. This help to prevent multipools from ruining mining profits. A multipool is a large collection of miners who mine the most profitable coin at any given time. With Nite’s Gravity Well the payouts for UFO coin per MH/s will rapidly drop when a multipool starts mining UFO coin, which will force the multipool to mine something else. Then payouts rapidly increase when the multipool leaves, benefiting UFO coin GPU/CPU miners. “”
Sorry but UFO it’s unique and a particular coin because after the Bushstar and Ghostlander implementation became an extra secure coin…

by other side I’m not a super expert miner, may be the best answer can reach from others friends here.

wallet v0.8.8.3 is already available for download…? or just a test session…?
:bow_tone1: soori for ask…
.
scrennshot_UFO_block_xplorer -
@FlatBlack I saw that too… Cryptofarmer at mining-dutch had mentioned something about a new wallet, but I don’t see anything about 0.8.8.3 anywhere… let alone that 1.0.0.0 dude…
-
Someone must have been watching the network traffic closely to spot the 0.8.8.3 client. It is a maintenance release to allow v3 blocks on 0.10. Feels like a lot of effort as 0.9 will be coming out tomorrow or the day after. The 0.8 source has to be updated and as I have to compile I may as well release it.
I will test that it syncs and that UPNP is enabled, make sure that UPNP is enabled on your router to allow the auto configuration of incoming ports. It should work without it, but more connections are supported with the incoming ports open.
