Hi @vitus, welcome to the forum. I see you are a miner on mining-dutch.nl too. I’ve asked the question in this thread here regarding the diff algo in UFO; @xonar’s link below is the UFO sub-forum.

Bottom line is… there isn’t a problem with mining or with UFO. You’re getting coins, and the blockchain is perfectly fine. What we’ve been experiencing is the effects of massive hashrate increases due to multiport switching pools and their “profitability algo” when UFO’s price went up several sat this weekend. The effect is exaggerated because the network hash was relatively low before the price rise, something like 30-40MH/s.

I happened to see what went on in real time, when the miner named “titan53” on MD, pushing something like 80-100MH/s, was being switched between FTC and UFO. It was like watching a ping-pong match. He would pop onto UFO, suck up a ton of coins, the rest of the miner’s share rates would plummet, and the blocks would effectively stop coming. Then, after 10, 20, 60 or more minutes, the multipool profitability algo re-calculated and would see the next block diff sky-high and pop him off the pool over to FTC. The diff would slowly drop, and he’d eventually be popped back on UFO. Rinse, repeat.

Now that the network hashrate is more steadily over 100MH/s (from 30-40 last weekend), I see that the issue isn’t nearly as bad as the other day. Hopefully more/big miners will just stay on UFO and not use the multipool algo function… :)

@bluebox O hi too! Now the network has stabilized. “titan53” f***n pool hopper, I have seen him repeatedly, a greedy creature!
