How can elections be controlled by sockpuppets?
-
If you were wondering how Brexit happened and Trump got in … I saw this happen at the time and wrote to my (Labour) MP that I was getting targeted political advertising in Youtube ( controlled by Google created and run by CIA).
Whilst Richard Hall can be patchy as he takes a semi credulous stand to some obvious propaganda (there were no energy weapons used in 9/11 and ufos are a diversion to USA developing “stealing / liberated” / foreign (alien) technology at area51) ; Neil Sanders is a perceptive researcher of real covert military actions such as gladio and MKultra.

@wrapper Seriously? Please stop while you’re only behind by a small amount, eh?
I like you and the rest of the folks here, but picking at still-open wounds with whacked-out conspiracy theorists ain’t the way to endear people. We’ve had more than enough Infowars-style crap here across the pond; it’s long past time to call a cease-fire and let the real investigators do their job. Please. ;)
(Hey, just realized we lost our emoji’s with the forum upgrade. Maybe not a bad thing.)

Guy with the mask outside parliament, thats just spooky!, There is a terrorist strike, you would expect police to shoot.

Really? trolling and a personal attack? very scientific response. :)

Well ok, I’ll go away and shut up, I don’t know anything about political science anyway. :)
Besides, the off-topic subforum is open to anything I suppose, without regard to how inflammatory it may be to others. (It’s been a while since the last political post, thank goodness.) I don’t have to tell you there’s an entire continent in projectile-vomit convulsion over the shame, embarrassment, and likely criminal espionage over our electoral process last year, including this year’s descent into political/racial/moral hell resulting from it.Yes, it’s a bit of a touchy subject 'round here — sorry.
You also didn’t know my mother-in-law’s son works for the CIA; he would have a few choice words for the “youtube/google created and run by the CIA” statement. Something a bit harsher than “that’s fake news”…
I’ll call a mulligan on this one and let it slide, won’t think anything worse for the exchange, but certainly won’t comment again. ;)

@Bluebox Not 100% sure what you do professionally …I myself work in Big Data
anyone who works in Big Data and is worth their salt knows about these kinds of methods.
Do some reading into “Cambridge Analytica” - They successfully helped Trump win the election using nothing but Big Data and Targeted Ads. You could even trick FaceBook or Twitter into giving you those target ads by doing something as simple as “liking” a trump post on FaceBook.
Cambridge Analytica got to the point where they could “know” a person better than their Wife, Brother or Friend simply by the amount of likes you gave certain content…it’s fucking scary.
Social Media Psy Ops is a very very real thing…it helps some companies make a silly amount of money.
This is just my two pence :-)

HPC (going to SC17 this year, finally). Our full-time in-house “big data” expert knows quite a bit more about these things than I do, however our workloads are more than one FTE’s worth for each of us, so we don’t have a lot of time to chit-chat about political psy-ops. My end of the shop deals entirely with the FEA/CFD/MD/NGS crowd, not big data. I’ll ask him what he knows next week, but I doubt even he cares to talk about political sh*t these days either.
Edit: I had to look up Cambridge Analytics to remind myself it’s the Mercer’s baby that is certainly being investigated by Mueller. Known about this since last spring with all the reporting on it, kind of old news around here.
I’m still trying to figure out where the assertion came from that the CIA created and runs youtube for psy-ops purposes. A few hours later it now sounds more laughable than inflammatory… -
I’m certainly not laughing. :(
https://medium.com/insurge-intelligence/how-the-cia-made-google-e836451a959eGoogle: seeded by the Pentagon
In 1994 — the same year the Highlands Forum was founded under the stewardship of the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the ONA, and DARPA — two young PhD students at Stanford University, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, made their breakthrough on the first automated web crawling and page ranking application.
That application remains the core component of what eventually became Google’s search service. Brin and Page had performed their work with funding from the Digital Library Initiative (DLI), a multi-agency programme of the National Science Foundation (NSF), NASA and DARPA.
Throughout the development of the search engine, Sergey Brin reported regularly and directly to two people who were not Stanford faculty at all: Dr. Bhavani Thuraisingham and Dr. Rick Steinheiser. Both were representatives of a sensitive US intelligence community research programme on information security and data-mining.
Thuraisingham is currently the Louis A. Beecherl distinguished professor and executive director of the Cyber Security Research Institute at the University of Texas, Dallas, and a sought-after expert on data-mining, data management and information security issues.
But in the 1990s, she worked for the MITRE Corp., a leading US defense contractor, where she managed the Massive Digital Data Systems initiative, a project sponsored by the NSA, CIA, and the Director of Central Intelligence, to foster innovative research in information technology.
By the way, what I actually said was, I was the subject of targeted political advertising on youtube during “Brexshit”, which I wrote to my MP about at the time.
And that youtube is controlled by google. google is well known to be started with CIA venture capital.not : “that the CIA created and runs youtube for psy-ops purpose”

That’s old news!
Twenty-Five Rules of Disinformation
10. Associate opponent charges with old news. A derivative of the straw man – usually, in any large-scale matter of high visibility, someone will make charges early on which can be or were already easily dealt with - a kind of investment for the future should the matter not be so easily contained.) Where it can be foreseen, have your own side raise a straw man issue and have it dealt with early on as part of the initial contingency plans. Subsequent charges, regardless of validity or new ground uncovered, can usually then be associated with the original charge and dismissed as simply being a rehash without need to address current issues – so much the better where the opponent is or was involved with the original source.
