There’s been many forks and modifications.

I always recomend NSGminer from @ghostlander

I currently use cpuminer, to be honest its not worth it from a points to cost ratio…

Keeps the office warm… that’s about the only plus point i can see! if you would like a copy of my current config file i can post it up?

With the current difficulty…Cpu mining is only really viable on a mass mass scale with every machine doing a small amount of kh/s

Use CPUminer if you have free electricity. It’s the fastest miner for CPUs anyway.

@ghostlander Cpuminer , downloadable at sourceforge, users say it has a “ransomware” virus and dont download.
              any recommendations?
I had wanted to run cgminer, with pool http://p2pool.neoscrypt.de:19327/static/
but a) is it correct that cgminer has no script to run cpu mining?
              b) in above pool, there is no options to login and create username.
I had wanted to download mining software that i didnt have to pay part bitcoin for to mine, and could transfer feathercoin direct to my wallet.

You always have the option to download the cpuminer sources from github and compile yourself. If you are running on linux it should be easy to do, for windows/mac it is a bit more complicated, as you have to set up the compiler and environment first.

To my knowledge cgminer and sgminer are suporting GPU mining only.

On a p2pool you don’t need to set up a username. The username to be supplied is your wallet FTC address and the password can be any.

Payouts are made whenever a block is found by the pool and your miner has contributed to that block.

@sunildubey02 I have the same recommentadion as @AcidD had in response to your first post in the newbie section.
His statements according expected hash rate and software to use are correct

@sunildubey02 Currently we’d only be guessing. i.e. You have the hardware, not us. To set it up, just read the nsgminer instructions, guides have become less important since instructions improved.

Let us know what you get and we’ll tell the next person that asks.
