Smart Contracts on feathercoin blockchain?
-
Hey Guys
Went to Brian Behlendorf - Hyperledger, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperledger meetup yesterday, what i gathered there was that there are limitless possibilities of how blockchain technology can be used, from recording a history of individual diamond to id / credit ratings records etc.
Feathercoin Blockchain: Is there any future possibility of smart contracts to be executed on FTC blockchain or any other ways it could be exploited for a better future?
Thanks

There must be a possibility since @Lizhi started to produce a Feathercoin smart contract system in version 0.11.x of Feathercoin-qt. However, at the time there was less understanding of the possibilities of the blockchain, Feathercoin had less value and the bounty was not taken up to complete that work.
The work was reliant on certain BIPs and blockchain database version being activated and we did extra work to 0.9.6.x so that it would be backwardly compatible and people wouldn’t have to upgrade the wallet.
With the advance state of technology, this could now be implemented more as a production system, it would need investment and support outside what is available in the community, e.g. a new FTC contracts forum / management structure etc.
I now realize smart contract systems are a massive area of expertise in themselves with issues such as scaling that need addressing. Perhaps with research involvement at University level as well as bleeding edge coders and investment.

A Very nice move for Feathercoin :)

I’ve added smart contracts to the 0.13.x functional requirement, is there anything else missing?
