Forked DONE! , please keep your wallet updated.

Make sure you contact any UFO exchanges (until they respond) and don’t have what happened at Cryptopia with FTC (not upgrading and causing a fork).
-
UFO is only listed on one very small exchange. so as long as they keep contact with just that one…they should be ok.
It’s the many mining pools with zero support staff @xonar will have to worry about.
-
No, they need to worry about their one exchange.
-
Well…if all the miners are on an old client and cause a fork…the exchange is really the last of their problems.
forking the blockchain and having rouge miners is way more serious / important than 1 exchange. If the exchange is on the new client and all the miners are on the old client…the exchange at that point is still useless.
Miners need to upgrade first.
-
Whilst miners are a priority - it is difficult to contact them - whilst they can contact the exchange - and if they are de-listed from their one exchange they won’t have any miners …
-
Yes and No.
Hanging out on the UFO telegram you’d know the Investors have more than enough coins to throw at an exchange for listing. I don’t see this as a problem for them at all. In-fact having UFO on only one exchange means they can basically control the price.
Where as if you have the miners all on different versions…to try and mitigate or control your error margin there is very hard.
For me if it was the danger of losing 1 exchange or the danger of causing a fork…the fork is more dangerous… Listing on an exchange is easy if you have the funds. ;-)

@acidd You’re probably right that miners not switching would be the bigger problem if it happened. The UFO Twitter account is saying that 80% of the network has switched, so the word seems to have gotten out reasonably well.

@gonnaforget said in 6.000 blocks to the fork, please keep your wallet updated.:

Murphy’s law says it is the miners that are the 20% …

Major services have updated including ACP, anyone not updated will find that their clients will get stuck trying to connect to a chain they cannot follow forcing them to update or remain stuck.

@xonar I mine UFO on mining-dutch. What would I need to do to make sure I’m mining in the correct direction?
-
Nothing, mining and wait. They are updated but they are verifying. This is a reply yesterday from this pool :
“Findblocks disabled, new blocks will currently not show up in the frontend / Blockupdate disabled, blocks and transactions confirmations are delayed / Payouts disabled, you will not receive any coins to your offline wallet for the time being”
“Shares and hashrate are safe and we will fix things ASAP.” -
This the pool extraction
