Has anyone experienced this problem with cgminer? I’ve been using guiminer but decided to try moving to cgminer for the failover feature. I can mine no problem solo, but I can’t connect to any pools for some reason (tried more than just ftc.d2.cc). I’ve put CGminer in my exceptions for both my firewall and my antivirus.

      Thanks guys!

      cgminer.exe --scrypt -o pool.d2.cc:9344 -u aysyr.1 -p 123 --intensity 13

      P.S.
This obviously isn’t my final configuration, I was just trying to get it to connect before setting it up fully.

is the name resolving? Try to ping the pool name and see if you get a response.

If that’s OK well try step 2…

          Yup, it pings just fine

Tried cgminer on a separate computer and it connects to the pool, so it’s something to do with that individual computer (which is also my main lol).

But on both computers I get the “invalid nonce” hw errors, which I think is due to the fact that I’m using 7xxx with 12.8 rather than 13.1 so I’ll update that to fix that part.

Are you using Kaspersky for anti-virus and firewall by any chance?

I’m using Bitdefender. It had an issue where it used to quarantine guiminer until I excluded the folder containing it. After that guiminer was fine. Cgminer is under the same parent folder so it’s excluded and I’ve added it to the firewall exceptions as well.

Okay I figured it out. I had been teamviewering from work every now and then and losing my train of thought between connects haha. But ends up there were two parts to the application rule for cgminer when I added it, one of defaulted to deny access. Found it and fixed it and now it works alright. Thanks for the time guys, sorry it ended up being so simple :P

No worries, in my line of work we joke about how many problems boil down to a checkbox. :)

we call it a PEBCAK issue. Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard. ;)

                      Glad it’s sorted. :)
