I try to go to the gym 3-4 times a week, i sometimes do some strength training and other days i am on the cross-trainer for 45 - 60 minutes.
I like it when i’m in shape, it keeps me more motivated and focused on work also :)
-
Awesome, I used to use some adjustable dumbbells, but I’d rather my arms not get too big and I like how functional body weight exercises are compared to weights :P

That’s good, staying fit is always a plus :) I myself try to keep up with doing bodyweight exercises 3 times a week and cardio in between. Why don’t you like it when people see you jogging? lolAnd it’s tough but fun. I did it last year with my uncle and his friends, and now I’m doing it with some friends of mine. It’s about 3-5 miles with obstacles in between and a mud crawl which is more like rocks covered with rocks… it hurts haha. The training camp you went to was probably more obstacle than endurance though I assume? And I guess 16 was a while ago huh?
Yea I enjoy jump roping because it really gets your heart rate up and burns a lot of calories, plus it makes you a faster runner ;D I’m completely opposite of you though cause I could never do cross country, I would die lol. But why do cows scare you? Cows are awesome!
I would love to check out this Spartan course you’re going to do… not for myslf to do just watch… haha.
Yes, 16 was a while ago but not too far behind that I’ve forgotten what it was like :D and the training course was pretty much more obstacle.Think you’d be fine on the country walk I’ve been doing, trekking across fields and stuff, the one I do does have quite a steep up hill but you just have to push your way through it, the cows are okay, but they’re so curious and they walk up to you and some of them get a bit too close, then when you walk by them they follow you and because they are so curious the ones at the back end up pushing the ones at the front nearer to you, you have to talk like a farmer to get their attention and try and divert them away… lol.

I do a lot of forest walks and hilly cross country walks, as I live in the countryside its relatively accessible, but I drank way too much beer in my twenty’s, and I work in an office environment so I’m still a fat bastard. My father can run a marathon in under 2 1/2 hours and he only took up running around my age, so there is hope for me yet.
I’m starting to get the walking to turn into jogging and I’ll go from there, it would be nice to run about 10 miles a day. -
I used to brew homebrew for exercise. But then I stopped drinking and lost some weight. Now I don’t know what to do with my time, and all my clothes are loose.
:(

I’m heading out to the French alps at the start of next month for some mountain biking. The lifts take you up and you roll down. Since I started working on Feathercoin I have not got out much, leaving my job for this project has taken away the 30 minutes of exercise I got cycling a day.
I’ve just gone out today to start training for the alps. A little too late I worry about but time has flown by. I’ve been out to that area of the alps before and I can get 6Mb on my phone and the entire mountain seems to be covered with wireless so people can use the Internet on their phones to ask to be rescued. If nothing else I can just keep up the good work in a chalet looking out at some snowy peaks :)

Sounds like you guys have a lot of nature around. I do too but it’s more the suburban type of nature with the forests being just whatever’s in between structures rather than wide open land.
I took a crappy paid job to live in the countryside, but its a very worth while lifestyle, no long commuting hassles, peaceful surrounds, lots of nature and cow dung and lots more free time to spend with my family and friends, its a complete oppoisite to a friend of mine living in San Francisco, he works a long long day, and has 2 to 3 hours commute per day, and lives in an insane neighbourhood, that’s crazy in my book but he likes it.
-
Wow yea, I couldn’t bear to travel that long on a daily basis. To me anything more than 30 minutes isn’t worth it.
I’d like a balance between the two ideally. I’d like a lot of space but at the same time still be in a neighborhood-type environment. I’m actually in DE and in the area I live doesn’t have that kind of area but probably somewhere here there is. Haven’t bothered looking since I’m just finishing up college and it’d be a while til I’d be in the market for one anyways.
Take your time with that, I was 10 years out of college before I found my place, here and in my head.

hehe, just to update you all, I actually jogged in front of people today… lol@me.
-
:O Congrats Ruthie! Haha, one time thing or you gonna stick with it?
-
hehe, think I’ll stick with it - need to get that heart rate up… :)
Oh, I have a new thing that I’m starting on Monday… Pole Fitness - clearly my hubby is excited about this one :D
-
So true, HIIT is a good way to get your heart rate up too and only takes about 20 min, but isn’t as enjoyable as a jog.
And interesting, have fun! Just don’t go about posting too much detail about it xD
-
I’ve added another rise / steep into the walk / jog too just to mix it up a bit :)
No worries, I wont post any details about the pole fitness - supposed to be good for toning :)
-
Okay, I thought I would post an update after my first pole fitness class - DAMN HARD…!!!
…Oh yes Im bruised too.
They make it look so much easier than it looks huh? Haha, you’ll get the hang of it. I started doing weighted pushups and I want to get set of gymnastic rings to do suspended exercises.
Suspended rings… you should go for it :) have you done it before…?
My friends that I went with to Pole Fitness don’t want to go again :( Don’t think they enjoyed it, they liked the idea of it but when it came to it weren’t that in to it - I do ache today so I guess that’s a good thing :) still thinking about going again.
