Sounds like you guys have a lot of nature around. I do too but it’s more the suburban type of nature with the forests being just whatever’s in between structures rather than wide open land.
I took a crappy paid job to live in the countryside, but its a very worth while lifestyle, no long commuting hassles, peaceful surrounds, lots of nature and cow dung and lots more free time to spend with my family and friends, its a complete oppoisite to a friend of mine living in San Francisco, he works a long long day, and has 2 to 3 hours commute per day, and lives in an insane neighbourhood, that’s crazy in my book but he likes it.
-
Wow yea, I couldn’t bear to travel that long on a daily basis. To me anything more than 30 minutes isn’t worth it.
I’d like a balance between the two ideally. I’d like a lot of space but at the same time still be in a neighborhood-type environment. I’m actually in DE and in the area I live doesn’t have that kind of area but probably somewhere here there is. Haven’t bothered looking since I’m just finishing up college and it’d be a while til I’d be in the market for one anyways.
Take your time with that, I was 10 years out of college before I found my place, here and in my head.

hehe, just to update you all, I actually jogged in front of people today… lol@me.
-
:O Congrats Ruthie! Haha, one time thing or you gonna stick with it?
-
hehe, think I’ll stick with it - need to get that heart rate up… :)
Oh, I have a new thing that I’m starting on Monday… Pole Fitness - clearly my hubby is excited about this one :D
-
So true, HIIT is a good way to get your heart rate up too and only takes about 20 min, but isn’t as enjoyable as a jog.
And interesting, have fun! Just don’t go about posting too much detail about it xD
-
I’ve added another rise / steep into the walk / jog too just to mix it up a bit :)
No worries, I wont post any details about the pole fitness - supposed to be good for toning :)
-
Okay, I thought I would post an update after my first pole fitness class - DAMN HARD…!!!
…Oh yes Im bruised too.
They make it look so much easier than it looks huh? Haha, you’ll get the hang of it. I started doing weighted pushups and I want to get set of gymnastic rings to do suspended exercises.
Suspended rings… you should go for it :) have you done it before…?
My friends that I went with to Pole Fitness don’t want to go again :( Don’t think they enjoyed it, they liked the idea of it but when it came to it weren’t that in to it - I do ache today so I guess that’s a good thing :) still thinking about going again.
-
I haven’t but it’s really good exercise though. I used to lift weights but I prefer body weight type exercises now since they’re more functional and offer more flexibility.
And that sucks, it’s always more fun with friends. Everything takes work though so she shouldn’t give up after one try.
I reckon you should go for it… the strength you have to have for something like that… wow, they make it look so easy in the Olympics don’t they…?
I have tried talking the girls in to going again, but they found it intimidating, so I’ll need to work on them but I wont force them, I might try it out for a month and see how I get on, - my body aches so bruising aside that has to be good sign :)

I try to go to the gym 3-4 times a week, i sometimes do some strength training and other days i am on the cross-trainer for 45 - 60 minutes.I like it when i’m in shape, it keeps me more motivated and focused on work also :)
I go 3times a week, I do only muscle volume and muscle strenght training ;) I just love it
I used to do weights but I never wanted to get jacked. I want a good amount of mass (not too much though) plus functionality, so I think I found my balance with weighted pushups and other body weight exercises :) I wanna start doing yoga again when I have time to do it as well as try out this Animal Flow workout… seems very natural and works out everything as it would be in a natural way. As you can see I like natural things lmao.
Right? Same thing with what you’re working on but with time comes the skill/strength to do it. Just remind your friends what they’ll be able to do once they’re good enough haha, you’ll to climb the pole upside down xD But a month is a good amount of time to try it, good luck!

I’ve been hitting the elliptical trainer lately… its hot work, all good though :D
Same haha, I’ve been doing it instead of jumproping… I just increased the resistance and go hard for 1 min, then rest for 1 min and repeat 8 times.
-
:) I’ve been starting low and buliding up till I get to resistance level 10, I go forwards mostly but you gotta go backwards occasionally, find it works different areas like that, I’m on there for about 1 hour. I’m throwing in some push ups too - I know it sounds like I do a lot but I don’t, I’m just starting up.
I still don’t have my jump rope :/ really must get it soon :D
-
That’s the way to go haha. Yea the reason I decided to use resistance is because that Spartan Race obstacle course thing I do has a lot of hills and carrying weight up hills, so the resistance helps my quads for that purpose :)
On the side, I got this pullup/dip tower thing and also bought a set of gymnastic rings for it. Don’t have much height to play around with since it’s inside the house but I can practice a few things on it.
