Any Interest in Pre-built FTC Rigs?
-
My company is going to start selling Scrypt-based, pre-built rigs for sale via our website for fiat and BTC. However, I’d be keen on offering them through the FTC marketplace.
The rigs would start at 1,500 KHs, and go up to ~3,750 KHs. Compared to other stores, they’d likely be more efficient from a cost-performance perspective. We’d be willing to sell them at the current BTC-E exchange rate, or something near it (1 FTC per 10 US cents).
If there’s interest, let me know, and we’ll start posting soon.

If Feathercoin goes up enough so that I can cash out a few to install a new circuit to handle more rigs, I would consider buying them if the price was right :)

The configurations are based around an open-case (milk crate) rig, with an ATX-based plastic floorboard for stability and PSU/Dual-PSU mounting.
Shared features include:
- MSI Z77A-G45 Motherboard (G55 on the largest model)
- Intel Celeron Processor
- 8GB DDR3 RAM
- Seasonic or OCZ PSU (Minimum bronze rated)
- 120GB HDD
- 100% Powered Risers (XL-based risers in the case of 5-6 card rigs)
- Windows 7/8 OEM Installation
GPUs vary, but are either Sapphire 2GB 7850s for lower-end models, or Sapphire 4L-7950s for higher end models. We would be using Gigabyte WF3’s flashed to F43, but allegedly, they’ve come out with a new BIOS that prevents flashing, which is extremely frustrating.
Pricing varies based on model, but they go from $1 per KHs generated (on the lowest end model @ 1,500 KHs - we could probably build others, but the lower you get on the scale, the less efficient they are) up to about $1 per 1.35 KHs.
Everything comes tuned with a performance guarantee. Each unit would meet the minimum designed specifications, with proof prior to delivery (via hashing at the FTC pool of your choice), or you get a portion of your money back, based on it failing the specifications.
Circuits are always an issue. The highest-end rig would require a 20a, 120v circuit, while anything between 1,500 - 3,100 KHs would be lower.
The primary configuration/price points are going to be (including shipping):
1,500+ KHs for $1,500
2,080+ KHs for $2,050
3,125+ KHs for $2,450
3,750+ KHs for $2,850Systems come pre-configured, and would be up and hashing in about 5 minutes from when you plug 'em in. You’d simply press about 2-3 buttons, and you’d be done. They aren’t as cheap as building them yourself, but they’re more efficient than any other supplier out there, that I know of.

I’d definitely be interested in a 3,750 kh/s model. If Feathercoin gets to a $1 each by the end of the year you’ll probably get an order from me :)
Cool. For what its worth, 3,750 nets about ~100 FTC per day right now, depending on the difficulty retargets.
Haha I know, I have about 6 kh/s between 4 rigs but I’ve basically spent all my savings to buy those 6 kh/s so I can’t afford another + a circuit upgrade atm :( Plus I’d still have to talk to my dad to get that installed (I’m just finishing up college so I don’t have all that much cash from my part time job xD)

FYI, I went ahead and listed them on our site. May list them on the marketplace, but I am unsure how advisable it’d be, given that I’ve listed/sold stuff there before, but without the customer paying.

Hi,
Might be interested. Is there anyway you can make them watercooled? I live in a appartment and the noise my miners made were enough to drive someone crazy :-\
I can discuss this with our developers. I am sure we can do it. However, it’d drive up the cost considerably.
