Greetings and short intro

I won’t go into long details, you may be familiar with many of them already. But I have been mining since 2011. I have been thinking about alternative currencies even longer.
You’ve got something going and I’ve been lurking for the most part.
What I will say is I am intrigued and I hope to see more of what I have seen here.
I can pull down a pretty decent hash rate but I know most of you have been helpful in my various conversions and setups.
No doubt someone here can point me in the right direction for setting up a Stratum Proxy here to point my older CPU machines to a pool that is phasing-out Long Poll. I can set the proxy up on either a Windows or Linux machine. Any chance of getting it to run on a WRT-54G? ::)
Hopefully I have managed to rise past the level of Newbie but if not, my questions herein, being answered, may be sufficient. I probably have more to say about the social and economic ramifications of FeatherCoin (and alternative currencies) than man people. But for now, I’ll spare you and just say keep up the great work and thanks for putting together a community where perhaps a currency that is not based on your connections to Asian chip manufacturing plants and access to equipment that only pushes the playing field further askew.

Hi and welcome to the forums NealStephenson,
About running it on a Linksys WRT-54G, I guess it’s plausible if you SDCard mod the router and shove DD-WRT onto it. But, I honestly have no idea of the coding behind the stratum_proxy but it would actually be a very good implementation if it could be compiled, effectively, for unix builds. Especially microbuilds such as custom firmware for routers.
I pre-appologise I can’t really give you a definitive answer, but I’d guess it’s very plausible. It’s also nice to see someone around with a bit (or a lot) of knowledge and understanding too.~ ^^
