\[SOLVED\] Help with buying FTC ?
-
Hey everyone, I was searching through the forum to try and find a post about how to buy coins on Vircurex or BTC-e and haven’t found anything yet. I would like to buy FTC, as I know you can’t directly buy it for USD or GBP. So that would mean you first need to buy a portion of Bitcoins to then exchange that to FTC. Could anyone make a video on YouTube or tutorial here so that not only me but other new members will benefit from?
When using Vircurex I’m stuck on actually adding funds (money) into my account so I need help with that. If anyone know any good video’s or threads that would be much appreciated! Sorry to be a pain in the ass :D

For me I’ve always had a pain when it comes to transferring money to my BTC-E account.
From what I’ve seen myself the only real way for me to getting coins would be through MtGox via bank transfer.
Then from there on you could send your BTC to BTC-E/Vircurex and go from BTC->FTC.Might be other people who know better than me. But that’s the only way (from what it seems) for me.
Be careful with Gox, I had bitcoins and fiat locked in there as they wanted me to identify myself before they would let me withdraw or even transfer MY bitcoins out >:( - so much for anonymity and decentralization :-\
I found Bitstamp about the best for total ease (and less stress) - Both sending fiat in from a UK bank account and out to a UK bank account! Fees are approx £10 - £15 in/out (with currency conversion taken into account) but this will depend on your sending bank!
I used to use blockchain.info but they have stopped accepting UK direct bank transfers as apparently a UK bank can reverse a transaction up to six months after it was made if they suspect the money transferred was originally dodgy - something I never knew!

I’ve never had any troubles and I’ve made more than enough transactions on there. Think you just got unlucky or something but I don’t believe they’re as shady as you think. -
I’ve never had any issues with MtGox also… but well my account is allready verified >:~)

I think the problem I had was I was trading with Bitcoins on Gox even though I had not transferred money via the UK to them, they don’t seem to like the fact you may want to take money out via them if they don’t see you putting it in via them. Fair enough I suppose, but still a form of centralisation in my book.
I contacted support and they said my account had been flagged, but no reason was given? Even though I did not break any daily or monthly amounts that they state as limits for unverified accounts.
It’s not that you won’t get your money back, it all got sorted in the end, it’s just a PITA having to verify yourself, especially if you find out the day after you have thrown away the only monthly utility bill that is in your name, like I did :'(
