Inspection of the Hash Rates is showing a high proportion of the variable Hash rate has moved to Infinitecoin. It has a couple of interesting features, apart from the lunatic coin levels.

There will be a difficulty change for Infinitecoin on 5th September 2013 - which is a Thursday. I assume there will be mass exodus of the “pump and dump” miners at that time.

Intentionality is important here. The miners mining Feathercoin right now are probably exactly the kind of people we need more of. I think the question is how many of these type of miners who are not just in it for the short term do we want making up the hashrate as a whole? 50%? Maybe 75% loyal miners with 25% freeriders?

The task here is to bring more people in this community, maybe people who hadn’t considered crypto mining before? We have also talked in other threads of paying tribute and rewarding miners who take part in the community as a whole to reward their work.

The one thing we must not do is be ungrateful for their effort and sacrifice.

We have currently less than 15% of loyal miners and over 85% of coin hoppers by hash power. If we don’t address the needs of loyal miners, their share is likely to decrease significantly. It has been decreasing already actually. One week ago there were about 20% of loyal miners and 80% of coin hoppers.

How are you nailing down the percentages? Guesstimation?

I currently have switched my miners to other coins which I then use to purchase ftc. I can’t mine ftc reliably because when the hoppers jump in the loyal pools start either to get mass orphans or no coins at all during that time. Which means for 12 hours or so nothing is found.

You better switch to Nutnut’s PPS pool :) You get paid for every share submitted no matter when a block is found.
