Sorry, I just checked the responses to my post yesterday. That may have come across wrong…I was really frustrated…still am! I’ve been putting much of my own effort into mining FTC with the faith that it will pay off in the end. However, it has so far returned very little. I couldn’t even connect a miner for about 2-3 days last week and became convinced the whole coin just vanished after hitting the exchanges.Trying to keep up with things, but it’s difficult for someone who doesn’t have a lot of free time to put into keeping up. I just downloaded the new client 2 days ago and now being told another one will need to be downloaded…it’s a lot to try and keep up on.
Now there’s going to be a “hard fork”? Which sounds to me like my previously mined coins will become worthless and a new one is being introduced under the same name.
I don’t know…maybe trying to help out with a new coin is better left to those with more free time to invest. I can’t seem to keep up with all the changes and news being announced. It’s quite frustrating and I totally see why people have their doubts about new coins. Hell, I’ve had a hard enough time just trying to keep track of where everyone is…this is the 3rd forum I’ve tracked FTC through.
EDIT:
Did I mention that several days worth of mining efforts were stolen by the pool I was mining in? Is it really any wonder why I’m irritated with FTC? I jumped on board full-throttle when I first heard about it and since that day it’s been nothing but one disaster after another. First the pool steals my FTC, then can’t connect to anything with my miners, then the value of the coin plummets to near nothing…plus the “community” seems to move to a different forum as soon as I catch up to it at the previous one.
Let’s just say that FTC hasn’t been the most “user friendly” coin I’ve invested in.
#1: You can trust give-me-ftc.com I bought my 5970 that I’m selling here from the owner of give-me-ltc.com (same person).
#2: Bitcointalk is not a great place for altcoins, too many Smeagols.
#3: Low starting difficulty will cause huge problems.
#4: A hard fork is a software fork. Not a new blockchain. A cold fork is a complete reboot. We are not doing that. Also 500 FTC would look nice in my wallet: 6r4SwvvkLTiic8EohobVGz66rXqoa6B8Xs. (just teasing)
hehe the 500FTC is no problem, just sell me the 5970=P

I have approx. 250 khash dedicated 24 hours/day and an additional 200 12 hours/day to keep FTC alive until it’s next iteration. I’ve had to bounce between the give-me-ftc pool and the wemineftc pool as I occasionally lose connection with one of them or the other. I only wish I could dedicate 15 mhash (yes MEGA hash) like nutnut does. Man, I’d like to take a look at his rigs.
Edit: A question… Does anyone know if it’s more efficient to work multiple GPU’s (in the same computer) under the same worker or is it better to have each GPU on it’s own worker?
-
Antedeus - give http://www.fcpool.com/ a try. been pretty solid so far and quick to be fixed when things break. it has idle worker notifications and more 8)
as for the GPU question, i seperate my rigs into individual workers. That way when one goes idle and i get the notification, i know exactly which one to smack around or that my wife has found the miner running on her comp again ;D
LOL, my wife turns cgminer off on her comp all the time. It’s her dialy use, so no biggie. But she forgets to relaunch it when she is done. I wouldn’t care but her PC pulls 1200 kh/s.
-
I have 400 KHash. Its been pointed for days, but retarget just keeps getting farther away
-
365 KH/s on ftc.d2.cc as much as possible since 5/3.
-
I have to say, I was really touched by this plea. I have no idea why. :)
I don’t have many GPU’s, but I’ll put one over to the cause, and if things are heading in the right direction, I’ll put the couple more I have over.
For now, 260kh from a 5830 on it’s way to give-me-ftc. Thanks for posting this, and appreciate the quality of the conversation here :)

I’ve seen you pop up and out of the share counters there, thanks for the hash rates, keep it up -
Keep pointing last 5 days my ~1MHs to wemineftc.com and supporting also fc.altpool.com cause i was mining first without problems…
@Nutnut add me please.
-
I’m with around 500khash on give-me-ftc.com
also bought some more FTC on btc-e.com
-
Redirecting my rigs to DontMine.me ~8500Khash hope it helps too.
-
my 1900 Khs redirected to FTC-solo

^^Wow to everyone above, awesome! 8)

Working hard to get every last Kh/s to Feathercoin. Currently still building a big mining rig, but in the meantime, I’m letting as many cards as I can mine, as well as every CPU that is otherwise idle. I’m probably in the 1 Mh/s area most of the time and will add more as my build progresses.

Still pushimg my 200 kh/s to fcpool.com like jesster, over 30Mh/s consistently this morning and picked upa couple of blocks overnight.
FTC is definitely not dead.
-
I’ve ordered a couple of 7950s to add to my little collection of cards. I should be able to get a total of 2MH/s on the network :)
-
Is there a theoretical minimum hashrate that is required to keep a coin network “alive”?
-
If everyone stopped mining then transactions would stop. To send money you would have to start mining yourself. We have around 400MH on the network which to me is a lot of hash power.
