moved 16 blocks since yesterday. it will take forever if we dont get any high power users behind us.
got 23ftc over night… remember when i got 1700ftc pr day=PAs main post request, a little transparency regarding the devs plan on this coin would be much apreciated, and
also hopefully would motivate more people to mine this coin.
I appreciate you cranking away on the coin. Here’s Bushstar’s update:

I believe the peer review is important. I agree we need to ease concerns but I also believe we need to make sure that there are no major gaping holes in the plan.

…not sure how yet, maybe some massive coin giveaways…
That is exactly what you should do. You (the FTC team) probably hold millions of coins and you should pay miners the change the change they lose on profitability and voila - you have a lively coin again.
I suggested this in this thread yet the responses were negative. But thats exactly what you gotta do, otherwise the capital loses of dying coin will be much higher than this.
Too bad that many newb miners can only see current price of FTC, but they can’t see the fact that there is no way to sell 1milion coins + (btc sell order depth) at the current price, and that 75$ worht of ftc is 75$ worth of ftc only at this moment, and these 75$ are nothing compared to gain possible, if FTC was alive.
The second problem of FTC is of course premine, thats why I would not want to invest anything in FTC but something, that can give immediate payout.
I still wish you good luck, its a new type of economy and its fun to watch and learn, how things are going.
cutting the block retarget rate to 504 sounds like a smart move, keeping everything at 4x!
Hope this will be implemented asap, get difficulty down to 4-5 days and you would likely see miners heading towards ftc again -
** Looks at wallet ** I’m seriously getting screwed. :) I’m just some dude that bought some coins early on (nothing like the numbers you’re suggesting) and wanted to help build a community.
As for the pre-mine, this has been covered time and time again… there wasn’t one. To be honest, it’s not worth the time arguing. People on ‘certain’ boards will yell premine, instamine etc… etc… .at almost any coin. I was lucky enough to hear someone make a Feathercoin joke in trollbox (something about chicken feathers, I don’t remember) early on and decided to purchase some. Let me be clear (again) , when I talk about massive giveaways… that’s me pulling money out of my own pocket and puchases them at BTC-E. I’m not Scrooge McDuck swimming in coins.
Compared to what I do for a living, from a monetary standpoint, it’s pretty expensive for me to spend time volunteering with Feathercoin. Thankfully I love working with the community and enjoy making critics feel uncomfortable. That’s the part that some people (just a general statement) have a difficulty understanding. Why would people donate so much time if they don’t stand to make a killing? Well… I remember spending weekends doing sign paintings meet-ups and freezing my $#$ off in the snow waving those signs.
Thank you for the best wishes, I mean that. As far as luck, well, we have the right group here in the forums to create our own.
I was one of the first to buy FTC over on the original Google document exchange, well actually off the Google document exchange and via PM’s with miners, I certainly don’t hold millions not even 100k, also a lot of coins have been dumped already.
Oh and there was no premine, just a lot of people with butthurt that they missed the earliest boarding of the boat! -

I’ve actually been pointed towards FTC for the past week now (despite a low hash rate currently). The confirmation/block generation is slow, so I figure anything I can throw at it will help speed it up and hopefully help get this currency revived.
Thank you, thank you! I’ll make sure I take care of those that helped us along the way… not sure how yet, maybe some massive coin giveaways.
It’s 2:56am here… I took a quick nap and now I’m back up fighting the FUD being spread. As long as you guys walk with me, I’ll continue to push forward.
I’m not going any where. If nothing else, it’s the knowledge of helping that serves me. I have been up all night and day rebuilding my pc since it decided to crap out on me earlier, and when I hit the sack in a while I can set my intensity to 18 and let it go for it. It’s at 16 now, but checking the pool I’m over 450khash/s which … I guess is wrong, since I max out at 380+ with the gpu and 24+ with the cpu… but nutnut’s been on that one confirmation block for weehoo hours… it finally went from 7 confirms to 6. :)
5 now I just checked.
price seems to be rising slightly on btc-e too.
We’ll get there!!!

it must really be a sucky life to be greedy and constantly looking for ways to get rich… or take the money out of others work. Hopefully that guy gets that what FTC holds is a good community spirit… not saying money isn’t nice… but I’m sure as hell not making a lot. I am just glad to help !
–eta2
Woo! down to 3 confirms on that sticky block.
;) I’m actually having more fun trying to add as much as I can to the hashing and seeing how it goes, than mindlessly mining and counting coins…
-
I think many people confuse premine with early adopters…
-
There is a damn good community here, a very helpful, mature and considerate group of people.
Feathercoin has done well (its less than a month old) and its going to be very successful. -

Don’t do that^^ :P
Woke up this morning to see that my rigs had turned… nothing over night lol. Zero, zilch, nadda.Well, Except hot. BUT, I was happy to see we had finally found a new block.
42 hr 18 min 16 sec / 1,472,979 Shares
Not an astronomical amount of shares, but we are at 28 MH/S as of this morning of which I am pulling a little under half. It’s awesome to see people sticking it out for those kind of time frames on the hopes they can help things get better. I was honestly surprised more people hadn’t switched.

Made a starter guide for new beginners to start mining feathercoin.
Will add more details/pictures,spellchecking,reference to different pool, explaning the digital currency and so on, but have exam on tuesday so have to prioritize=)at least this guide will give someone new a opportunity to start mining ftc:

Going to turn some power back to FTC. Any stats on best pools? I have been using dig.feathecoin which has been reliable, but pool is only 19Mhash.

Do any know what is happening with give-me-ftc? are they updating their site/software?
last two blocks found has been at 0 a long time now without getting confirmed.
-
It looks like those were invalid :(
A point to note. I have approached Coinotron to run a pool. He has been very busy for some time as I have been trying to pin him down on this. I have offered him a bounty to get this running and I hope it accepts my offer.

Dude you have to provide a fix ASAP.
We are losing precious time and miners every hour!
