Really? I can get strippers AND blow on the marketplace? AWESOME!!!
I wonder who will be the first to post a listing.
-
Do I use the same log-ins from the forum, or do I register new for the marketplace?
You need to create a new login for the site. It is going to be spun off the main website very soon now, I do plan to get this done before next year.
Update I spent a bit of time today refreshing the style of the listings as they were a bit naff. I’ve managed to make it ever more minimal :)
That makes the listings MUCH easier to read. The marketplace is getting better with every update.
Also, I’m from the US, so for any of you guys reading this stateside:
1. naff
British slang, describes something that is stupid, lame or unpalatable.
That party was naff â€" they ran out of beer, and the people were way too uptight. -
To be clear Kevlar, you will need to get them in two separate listings. One is a service and the other a product…though one could argue that both are products…
I think it would be pretty misogynist to argue that both are products. Strippers are clearly service providers, and thus strippers and blow would definitely be in two separate categories. Though the product is integrated into the physicality, the same would be said of voice over artists, actors, and ticket takers.
(See what I did there MTRisner? Thats for the similar-to-me humor impaired. ;) )

Added crypto currency to the market.
https://market.feathercoin.com/browse.php?id=205
Get yer Doge coins now, so wow, much crypto!
Doing more work making the style consistent and dropping some of the older style elements. Fixing bugs, quirks and improving usability along the way as I go. It’s a lot of fun working on this system and it is starting to look good imo :)
-
I agree Pete, listed 6 items last night and it was a breeze, actually easier than ebay imho. Looking really good now, that hard work is really paying off, well done.

Request : Ability to cancel/relist unpaid auction.
-
Have won 3 items, but only one seller has contacted me, even though I’ve paid immediately.
In one case, the user has not been online on the forums for 12 days.
What is the procedure if the seller does not come online or contact me within say 1 week?
-
Currently you would contact the market using the email address found by clicking the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page. The seller is then contacted to see if a resolution can be found. Either the seller responds and completes the trade or I send your money back.
At 14 days the sales get chased to resolve and close them.
We get a few auctions from people who do not intend to buy the product.
I think under these conditions a cancel sale button can be present.
No funds have been sent
AND
(Buyer has not entered in any delivery details
OR
Buyer has entered delivery details but not sent funds (1 week wait?))Cancelling and then relisting would do the following.
On Buy Now auctions add quantity from sale to quantity total on live item, if Buy Now auction is closed open the item with quantity of the sale or for a standard auction start it with the original details.
That should make this easier for the seller to handle these situations.
Before I do any work on the market I need to fix the Buy Now system in WeBid. I got it working in our market but only after a rewrite. I volunteered to fix the Buy Now in original WeBid system so intend to do that over the next couple of days. It should not be a huge task as I have all the answers already :)

I’m going to start listing some stuff on the Marketplace soon, but I have a few suggestions for features:
-
A make an offer option
-
Immediate payment required setting
-
Report an item
-
A make an offer option would be a great idea and would encourage a bit of good old fashion haggling. I’d also like it so we could set the price as 0 with the option to make any offer you wish. The reason is, there’s lot of stuff I have to sell like collectables and other stuff but I really have no idea how much they’re worth and would just like to get a bit of coin for them, so I’d like to entertain any offers on those particular items. I don’t want to put a ridiculous starting price in case it’s far too much, and I also don’t want to put a tiny starting price in case I undersell it, so I’d like to just get some offers on those things.
-
Self-explanatory, but the buyer has to pay for for the item before the listing is closed, if the seller chooses this option. Non-payers are a real annoyance and waste of time.
-
There seems to have been a few prohibited items listed recently â€" weapons, used panties* (lol), and users essentially just begging for donations, and I haven’t seen any report an item function.
*Not that I’m bothered or against this, but I think I read this kind of listing was prohibited in the rules, could be wrong though.
If you could implement the ‘make an offer’ option ASAP I’d massively appreciate it. Apologies if these features are already implemented or have already been proposed. Thanks.

That’s three really good suggestions.I will be back on market functionality later this week. We will also be moving to a separate domain feathercoinmarket.com.
Thanks! As I mentioned, I’d be very appreciative of the suggestions being implemented. I really think the FTC Marketplace is a great addition to the community and a big draw for others. Hope to list a lot of stuff soon :).

Request : Ability to cancel/relist unpaid auction.
There is now a ‘Cancel Sale’ button available for all auctions that have been sold but no delivery details have been provided. Once hit But Now only auctions have the quantity added back on to the auction and normal auctions get moved to closed auctions where the item can be relisted.
Through doing this I uncovered an outstanding bug that I have chased before where some auctions show up with 0 quantity. The system was allowed auctions to be relisted from the closed auctions page which had 0 quantity. Closed auctions no longer shows auctions with 0 quantity. To relist a sold out auction you would do so from the sold auctions page using the sell similar function.
-
Sometimes the server takes nearly 1 minute to process requests, such as going to pay for an item or enter my shipping information. I noticed there was 24 users currently online.
Maybe a nice feature upgrade as the market becomes more popular would be an increase in concurrent users or the like?
-
Feature Request
A set of toggle-able features to alert Marketplace Merchants/Customers of any Marketplace happening (bid, sale, auction won, new message, etc) right here on the forum. Like a little red blurb at the top of the page beside the Marketplace link. It could start out like shown below and if found useful expand to designate which “happening” it is that needs attention by showing separate icons for messages and the #, sales #, bids #, etc.
-
Feature Request
I think it would be nice if the auction only displayed views from potential buyers in the stats.
Currently the auctions view count is factoring in the merchants visits to the page which can then be manipulated by a merchant to make their auction appear more active than it is and at the same time hide the auctions actual popularity from the merchants that prefer to know the (actual popularity) # of visits excluding the merchants visits.
Excellent, thanks! Yes I was able to do what you describe in the 2nd paragraph. It caused much confusion between myself and a buyer, so thank you for fixing both of these.
