As we go through changes, there will be people coming here offering services (such as hashing for rent). Some will be very clear that they don’t directly support FTC, however, they’re willing to assist for a price. I ask that as a community we remain welcoming and respectful. Feathercoin will eventually hit mainstream, we’ll need to be use to dealing with different people that have very different needs for the coin.

      • If it’s an obvious attempt to smear the coin or community, I’ll act appropriately and get rid of it
      • If it’s someone that supports the free market and offering a service, I stand behind their effort to contact us

Unlike other communities, we’re willing to evaluate all situations while making the atmosphere friendly for visitors. Some in the crypto community will never get that and that’s fine. There’s a certain ‘charm’ for keeping things underground and Internet cool (troll this, scam that), that’s just not us.

Point taken, I must admit GTFO was not the right way to approach such an offer :)
I suppose I was just reacting to seeing such an offer as a circling Vulture, but they only circle dead stuff and FTC is far from being dead! 8)

I promise I wasn’t referring to anyone directly! You’re absolutely right, the vultures are confused. I just want to remind them they are simply wasting their time. Every minute they spend trying to fight against something, we’re spending our energy moving forward.

I think I have a good idea of what this is in relation to, but I full well agree. Anyone who offers their services and help, be it big or small, deserves a warm welcome where possible.
To those who think they can get a little publicity through negativity, you won’t get far, we’ll just go straight past you. :)

              +1 to this.

This is why I mine what I do, and why I mine the pools I mine on… the community. Sure, my miners are just as effective irregardless, but I have found that participating increases my emotional stake and as such increases my willingness to take risks on projects I am fond of.

I’m open to honest “haters” offering rental. I currently owe 1900 LTC, but I’m not going to get past that hurdle without being productive.
I could be renting out my system right now.

Just don’t come in here telling us “miners are the foundation of your business”. Banksters do enough of that already. What makes people think that the only reason someone might be in cryptocoin is “business”? What if you see people struggling as a waste of potentially creative energy that we all would benefit from? I don’t believe in altruism in the sense that I owe something to society, rather I think it’s a question of what kind of future I want to contribute to.

“If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.”

That’s the beauty of the Feathercoin community. Each person has different reasons for supporting the coin and that’s what will make it unique. I encourage people to work on projects that makes THEM happy. I can’t fault those that are new to the community for not understanding our differences. I hope with time they too find something that peeks their specific interest/goal.

I want to rid the world of fractional reserve banking, therefore I mine. I think that makes me an economic terrorist or something in a DHS pamphlet. Kill list here I come!

Let everyone taste the tyranny of their choice, just don’t tell me a community is a threat to the rest of the system, except to improve things. I suppose some people think that’s a threat.

Everyone is here for a different reason. All I ask is everyone respects those choices even if there isn’t an agreement. Again, this site asks we be welcoming to those that offer services. If we don’t want to use them, we can kindly decline.
